Nonny-Mouse why would you do this to me? :O
Maruchika? Did someone ask for Maruchika? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
“That’s because you’re a failure. You’d be better off as ghoul fodder.” Tsuneyoshi waves his hands in dismissal.
“Understood, sir.” Yoshitoki keeps his face blank as he leaves his father’s office.
Marude’s eyes probe his friend.
Once far from Tsuneyoshi, Yoshitoki slams his fist into the wall. It’s the most emotion Marude has ever seen from him.
“Let’s talk.”
“Let’s not.”
“Sir, you may be my boss, but you’re also my friend.” Marude leads Yoshitoki into his own office. He shoves a cup of coffee into Yoshitoki’s hands. “I suppose I see now why you’ve been so forgiving of my mistakes. Because your father never forgives yours.”
Yoshitoki sighs. “Truth to be told, he’s angry that I won’t put pressure on Matsuri to have a child.”
“That’s Matsuri and Iyo’s business.” Marude is perturbed. He’s never liked Tsuneyoshi – never liked how the old demon forced Chika to marry and then forced a divorce as soon as they had Matsuri – never liked his strange sway over CCG.
“I agree.”
“Chika, you’re a good father. That’s not nothing, especially…” Marude swallows and sits beside his friend. “Well, it doesn’t seem your father treats you well.”
Yoshitoki smiles at the use of his old name, the name he misses. “Thanks, Maru.” He chuckles. “You never married, and you seem to be doing fine.”
If only the Washuus could be similar.
“You know, when we were new officers, I dreamt of marrying you. There’s nothing to be ashamed of.” Marude shrugs.
Yoshitoki’s mouth opens. “You…”
Marude smiles, inches from Yoshitoki’s face. “What I’m saying is, your son’s not a deviant. It’s normal for some of us.”
“He’s not the only one it’s normal for,” Yoshitoki whispers. He leans over to brushe his lips against Marude.
Marude draws him closer. “Chika – I never thought -”
“Why didn’t you ever ask?” Yoshitoki’s eyes widen. All these wasted years. For a moment, he doesn’t feel tired or pressured or failed. He feels free. He feels what his life was meant to be.
Yoshitoki leans his head on Marude’s chest and lets himself cry.

Matsuri had been waiting outside Marude’s office. From the look on Dad’s face, Grandfather was angry about his inaction with Iyo again.
But he wasn’t expecting to – hear – this.
And so Matsuri hurries away, but as he does, a smile grows on his face.
He’s not alone. He’s not a freak.
He can confess to Dad if he needs.
Maybe he and Dad can understand each other, after all.

“You’re the beshtesht shquad leader ever.” Hanbee clutches Suzuya’s shoulders. The room spins around him.
Suzuya sips his Long Island. It’s sweet and tangy and he likes it.
“To Shushuya!” Keijin leaps on the bar counter.
“Sir, I’m going to have to ask you to keep your feet off the table,” says the bar owner, brushing back her peach hair.
“Okay.” Keijin falls backwards. “Trust fall!”
Suzuya barely manages to catch his second-in-command. Huh. He feels tingly all over. That seems weird.
Miyuki giggles. “I can shee into the fifth dimentshion. I can shee the future!”
“I can see your underwear.” Mizurou waves a hand in Miyuki’s face.
“No you can’t. You’re sheeing my shoul.” Miyuki laughs.
Suzuya waves down the bartender. “Excuse me; why is the room spinning?”
The bartender points to his Long Island. “How many of those have you had?”
“Three,” he says cheerfully.
The woman turns white.
“Bye!” Suzuya slaps money down on the table and stands. He trips immediately over Hanbee, who is rolling around on the floor.
When the Quinx Squad is dispatched to a bar called Helter Skelter, they do not expect to find Suzuya rolling around on the floor with Hanbee.
“That’s it; I quit.” Urie tries to back out, but Shirazu holds him fast.
As each Quinx drags a member of Suzuya squad out of the bar, they marvel at the unexpected turn of events.
The bar owner, too, did not expect to see Haise Sasaki’s face.
“Okay, this is how Suzuya taught me.” Mutsuki sidles up to Urie. “Hold it like this. Stand with your legs slightly farther apart – yeah, that’s right.”
Urie feels electricity where Mutsuki touches his hands.
“Just be confident,” Mutsuki assures him, somewhat confused at the sudden nervousness on Urie’s face.
“I’m always confident,” he snaps.
“Are you?” Mutsuki grins and positions Urie’s legs a bit more.
Now is not the time to go knobbly-kneed, Urie. Urie nods. “I’m ready.”
“Throw,” Mutsuki commands.
The assuredness in Mutsuki’s voice distracts Urie. How can he focus when Mutsuki’s changed so much? When Mutsuki is right next to him?
“Urie!” Mutsuki cries out as the knife shatters a window. “That’s Takeomi’s window.”
“Is it? I had no idea.” Urie whistles.
Mutsuki narrows his eyes. “You didn’t even do that on purpose. You went ninety degrees off the mark.”
“Yes, I did.”
“You’re too distracted.” Mutsuki pats Urie’s shoulder. Urie sucks in his breath.
Oh. Mutsuki narrows his eyes. “Would it help if I stand closer?”
“I mean, define help,” Urie says as his heart hammers.
Mutsuki wraps his arms around Urie. “Like this?”
“N – now I can’t throw,” Urie whimpers.
“If you can throw around me, you can throw around anyone.” Mutsuki runs his hands up Urie’s chest. “Mmm. Yes. You smell good. Now, pretend your next promotion depends on it.”
Iyo asks? Absolutely, Nonny-Mouse.
“By the way,” Iyo admits the next morning, “I should probably tell you, Matsuri my dear, you’re not the only one who likes the same gender.”
“What?” Matsuri gapes at her.
“I had the largest crush on Rize when we were kids. Souta and I would always squabble over her.” Iyo grins.
Matsuri’s brain does not compute. “Heh?”
“I like men, too.” Iyo shrugs. “But Rize will always be my ideal partner.”
“I wish we knew where she was.” Maybe if they find her, she’ll love Iyo. And then Iyo and Rize can secretly marry as Matsuri secretly marries Urie, and all will be well.
He tells his idea to Iyo, and she shakes her head. “You do realize the whole ‘secret’ is a problem itself, right?”
“Yes,” Matsuri mumbles. “But I – I want my Dad to love me.”
“Your father does love you. Tsuneyoshi doesn’t even love your dad, so don’t take it personally.” Iyo hugs Matsuri. “Anyway, I just thought I should tell you. You’re not alone.”
He hugs her back. Maybe, just maybe, they can be friends and allies. Partners in a non-marital sense.
“Now, have fun at work.” Iyo waves. “I’ll have fun reading your novels.”
When Matsuri returns, he swings by the largest bookstore around and picks up the bestselling erotic lesbian novels he can find for Iyo.
– Naki is a helicopter parent. Every time their baby falls asleep, he becomes concerned they’ve died.
– Miza told him she thought Yamori would be proud of him, though she’s secretly glad Yamori isn’t around to play with the child. Naki cried with more joy.
– Naki likes dancing with Miza and the baby. Usually it’s to romantic music. One time it was to Yamori’s favorite song, which was of the “screamo” genre. Neither Miza nor the kid appreciated it.
– Naki is super into every aspect of parenting. He knows Miza is physically tired and recovering from labor, so he’ll be the first to rise when the baby cries. He doesn’t even mind changing diapers.
– When Miza saw that the baby had her Naki’s blond tufts, she cried.
– Miza made their baby a mini white suit. When Naki came home and saw his child dressed like him, he bawled again.
– The first time they had Kaneki and Touka and their baby over to meet the latest Kusakari, Naki tried to arrange a marriage between their kids.
MY OTP FLAGSHIP YASSSSS – First time for them, loosely based on the novel Past.
I feel at ease with him.
Kimi lets Nishiki’s tongue explore her mouth. She touches his cheek the way he touched hers, and leans back on the couch.
Nishiki pants atop her. “Do you want to…take this into the bedroom?”
Kimi nods. For once, she isn’t thinking about her family. She isn’t thinking about her insufferable pain. She’s only thinking about Nishiki.
“Have you ever done this before?” Nishiki purrs in her ear.
“No,” she admits. “Sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry!” He sounds scandalized.
“You have, right?”
“Yes?” Nishiki feels different with Kimi, though. He feels freer. She doesn’t ask about his past, because she’s so focused on enjoying him now. “We should probably take it slow.”
Kimi nods. “Do you want to undress me?”
Nishiki snorts. “Is that even a question?”
She laughs as he pulls off her clothing, one by one, and kisses whatever skin he finds underneath. Even her feet, when he removes her socks.
“You’re beautiful,” he whispers, sliding his fingers between her legs.
Kimi whimpers as she helps him out of his own clothing. She feels safe and happy with him as they begin, whispering sweet compliments to each other.
When it’s over, she finds herself warm and sweaty, but Nishiki still wraps her in a blanket.
“Just in case you get cold,” he says, and Kimi thinks he’s the sweetest boy she’s ever met.
Suzuhan is never late. First time: Suzuhan, here we go.
“Abara.” Suzuya leans over his boyfriend. “Do you want to make love to me?”
Hanbee drops his mug of coffee. “What?”
“We’re been together for a while and I really like kissing you and I want to do more.” Suzuya clasps Hanbee’s hands in his.
“I do, but – Juuzou, are you sure?” Hanbee is sweating already.
“Yes!” he sings, leading Hanbee into his bedroom.
Hanbee giggles at the stuffed animals covering Suzuya’s bed. “All these witnesses?”
Suzuya grins. “We can put them on the floor.”
“I think we’d have to. How do you even sleep in this bed?”
Suzuya shrugs. “I just…do?” He leaps onto the bed and stands. “Now I’m taller!”
Hanbee laughs as Suzuya peels off his shirt.
“Wait,” Suzuya says when they’re nearly naked. “I just…Abara…you know what happened to me, right?”
He looks so sad. This is what Hanbee feared. He strokes Juuzou’s face. “I know. It doesn’t matter to me. I think you’re beautiful the way you are.”
Suzuya tackles him. “I love you!”
“I love you, too.” Hanbee removes his own pants and feels a rush of shyness. But Suzuya just smiles at him. They’re both red-faced and laughing as they attach each other’s condoms.
Suzuya wonders what he was so worried about as their bodies grind together. He feels happy and free and loved. Hanbee doesn’t think he’s disgusting. Hanbee loves him.
Hanbee cries out, and Suzuya showers his face in kisses. “That was fun.”
“Everything is fun with you.” Hanbee gazes up at him in wonder.
❤ ❤ ❤ Nonny-Mouse.
“My purpose is done.” Furuta walks away.
“Wait!” Ui chases after him, Hirako and Yusa on his heels. “You can’t just – you can’t walk away!”
“Aren’t I?” Furuta takes another step back.
Ui’s surprised at the deadness in Furuta’s eyes. “Why? I just…I want to know why.”
Furuta laughs harshly. “I can’t.”
“You can and you must.” Ui pales. “Why did you entrust me with your plan?”
“Because I knew you wouldn’t break.”
“I’m breaking now.”
“We’re all broken. Look around you.” Furuta shrugs.
Ui stomps his foot. “Why don’t you care about anything or anyone?!”
Furuta swallows. “Caring is a pain in the ass.”
Ui glowers at him.
“If you want to kill me, you can. I really don’t care.” Furuta holds out his hands. “Do your worst.”
“Ui,” Hirako warns.
Ui knows Furuta’s just tempting him further. That’s all he’s ever been to Furuta, isn’t it? Just someone to stumble.
He steps closer, shooting Hirako a knowing look. Hirako, with a satisfied nod, lets Ui approach Furuta.
“I should want to. Kill you, that is.” Ui pauses. “I really don’t, though.”
“Then you’re a fool.” Furuta closes his eyes. End it.
“Maybe you’re the fool for thinking you should die.”
There’s silence, and when Furuta opens his eyes, he sees Ui holding out his hand to Furuta. “Come on. We can still make this right.”
“Nothing’s right.” Furuta goggles at Ui.
“No, but we can clean up what little we can,” says Hirako.
“You know,” says Yusa through tears, “if you had just asked the One-Eyed King about the world he wanted, everything could have been different.”
“Kaneki was easy to figure out.”
“Not Kaneki. Arima,” said Hirako.
Ui’s mouth drops in synchrony with Furuta’s.
He grabs Furuta’s hand. “I’m taking you with us. I won’t let you self-destruct any more. I won’t do to you what you did to me. And I can’t forgive you, but I can’t let you die, you know?”
“I really don’t.” Furuta trembles.
“You’re one of the Garden kids too.” Hirako sighs. “Arima would have wanted you protected, too.”
“I have no idea what he’s talking about,” Ui says icily. “But come with us, and you all can explain to me. Because if Arima would have wanted you alive, I do, too.” He lowers his voice. “And even if he didn’t, I still would.”
Furuta is terrified of the compassion in Ui’s voice. But he allows Ui and Hirako to lead him forward. And his grip tightens on Ui’s.
“Do you think we’re closer to the world Arima wanted?” Yusa’s back remains to Ui, but Ui hears the defeat in his voice.
And it breaks him.
Arima, Hairu, Shio, Rikai, Hairu, Hairu, Hairu, Sakai, Hairu…
Ui gasps. He hasn’t let himself cry in so long.
And suddenly the tears won’t stop.
Furuta looks terrified. “Bye!”
Yusa knees a fleeing Furuta between his thighs. The former director falls over, howling.
But Ui howls louder. “Fuck you! Fuck you, Furuta Nimura!”
“What if I told you that wasn’t my full name?”
“Shut up!” Ui throws a chunk of collapsed concrete at him. He misses by about two meters.
“Fuck me! I allowed this.” Ui grabs his hair. These dead kids – he let them die! “What have I done?”
“Allowed this?”
“Shut up,” Hirako barks at Furuta.
“I miss her. I miss her so – so much and I – and Arima – he was the one one – who understood me – and now – I’ve lost everything!” Ui sobs. “I should have died, not Hairu. Not Arima.”
Yusa and Hirako exchange glances.
“Go on and tell him,” Furuta mutters. He should hate Ui – Ui’s everything he despised – but Ui showed him one moment of encouragement months ago, so for some reason he can’t hate him.
He can’t make it up to Ui. He doesn’t even care to.
But he might as well let the boy know the truth.
“Ui, Arima – Arima was dying anyways. So was Hairu.” Hirako swallows.
“Huh?” Ui’s face pinches. Hairu, who giggled every night with him, who fed him melon pan, who laughed at everything he did. Hairu who revitalized his life? No, never.
He just wants another second with her. Just enough time to tell her he loves her. Please, God.
“Listen to me.” Hirako sighs. “But this is gonna take a long time to explain.”
