Maruchika anon heeere, how have you been?~ can I ask for something fluffy where Chika thinks how much he loves Marude and how lucky he is that they are together? Maybe like a sequel for the last scenario you wrote~ lots of kissing and snuggling involved and some Hide being a tease at how cute they look and how un-washuu like Chika is acting, all blushing and everything~

I’ve been well, how are you my lovely Tho?

Chika Washuu is an early riser. But today he’s been awake since 3 am, watching Marude sleep beside him.

Maru snores as loud as his motorcycle motor. Chika chuckles to himself.

His best friend doesn’t hate him. He accepts him, after years of a lie.

Warmth spilled over in Chika’s heart, and he snuggles closer to Maru, wrapping him in his arms. That loneliness he always felt – it’s gone now.

Marude rolls over. “Aw shit, it’s dawn.”

Maru’s first words would include an expletive. Chika laughs.

Marude kisses him gently. “Are you okay?”

Chika nods.

“Time to meet Hide, then, and plan to get your son more involved.” Marude rises.

When they enter the coffeeshop, Marude points toward a mask-wearing kid. “Nagachika.”

Hide waves. He then sees Chika’s blush, and his hand entwined with Maru’s, and has to wink.

“Can you not, kid?” snaps Marude.

Hide scribbles on a paper. Can, but won’t?

Marude pouts.

You’re acting very much not like a Washuu, Chika. I like it.

Though his mouth is covered, Chika can tell the kid is smiling.

Chikamaru AU where Maru discovers that Yoshitoki is actually a ghoul and literally doesn’t give a fuck about it and proceeds to smooch his longtime friend in front of everybody? And so Chika joins forces with Hide & co~

Yassssssss.

“Yoshitoki.” Marude Itsuki approaches Yoshitoki from behind. He holds out the gun, and he’s disgusted his hand doesn’t shake. Has he really been trained this cold?

“If this is a joke, it isn’t funny.” Yoshitoki says tightly. Why – why does Maru have a gun on him? Is it all about to end?

Marude holds up King Bileygr. “It’s not that I believe everything in this book. I checked all your meals and medical records. Nothing is off. But then I checked the Rc Scan Gates. You, Matsuri, Hsaio Ching-Li, Ihei Hairu, Arima Kishou – you all cause spikes in the scanners without detection.”

Yoshitoki says nothing.

“Is it true?” Are you – have you desecrated everything we’ve been fighting for?” Marude’s voice doesn’t shake, and he hates himself for it.

From the corner of his eye, Yoshitoki sees a man losing his purpose. I’m sorry, Maru.

“Why?” Marude whispers. “Was it all a lie? Chika?”

Chika. Yoshitoki wants to return to those days, to return to being just Chika and Itsuki, young men living full of potential.

“You were my friend, weren’t you? So why the secret?” Marude creeps closer, raising the gun.

Yoshitoki turns around, and he sees no anger on his face. He sees acceptance, sorrow even, and defeat.

He’s never seen Chika defeated before.

The gun finally shakes in his hands.

Marude can’t quite drop it, but he stumbles forward. Chika doesn’t move. If Maru wants to kill him, he will not blame him.

Marude’s face approaches. Yoshitoki steals himself.

And then Maru’s lips meet his.

Yoshitoki gasps in sync with the guards behind them. “What?”

“We were friends. If – if that wasn’t a lie, show me a way forward. Join Nagachika and I. You’re … you don’t have to live with this alone.” Marude laughs harshly. “I’m no good at kindness, you know. But I know if there’s anyone I want to show mercy to, it’s you. Call it love, call it idiocy, call it treason. I’m here to help.”

“You don’t know what you’re up against.”

Maru snorts. “Isn’t that the situation we officers often find ourselves in?”

Yoshitoki doesn’t believe in absolution for his crimes. But he hopes that someday, with Maru by his side, he can stop them from perpetuating. This is everything he’s ever wanted, and he’s scared to nod his head.

His friend loves him. His friend knows he’s a ghoul, and he kissed him.

Finally Chika can whisper, “Okay.”

Ui Koori – blubbering, red-cheeked mess

Hirako Take – am I supposed to be seeing this?

Washuu Yoshitoki – dazzled

Marude Itsuki – clears throat, smooths hair. Hi there.

Tanakamaru Mougan – Higheerrrrrrrrrrrrr boobs!

Rio – Poke

Chikamaru first time ;)? Maybe with Yoshitoki being all confident about going to be a top but whoopsie he actually likes to bottom with Maru (who is so freaking smut about it.) Bonus point, the next day Furuta won’t let him live it down (we don’t know how he knows. He is furuta, he simply does.)

Oh my god I love you for more Yoshitoki asks. And yes, the machinations of Furuta are an enigma. 😉

Marude gasps slightly as Yoshitoki presses him against his bed.

“Maru,” he murmurs.

He loves when Chika calls him that silly nickname. Is this love? Probably. Ugh, he’s going sentimental in his old age.

“Chika.” Marude stares up at his best friend.

“We should have done this a lot sooner,” says Yoshitoki, disquiet in his eyes.

“Now’s as good a time as ever.” Marude winks and allows Yoshitoki to remove his shirt.

Yoshitoki trembles as Marude returns the favor. He feels like Chika again with Maru. He feels free and vulnerable and happy.

“Maru,” he whispers. “Would you – would you want to try being on top?”

Marude looks surprised for a moment before his eyes gleam. “I’d love that.”

When their bodies combine and Marude whispers love in his ear, Yoshitoki can only think of Maru, of the man he’s loved for years. His father, his wicked family, and his secret are far from his mind.

Marude suckles the skin on Yoshitoki’s neck, and Yoshitoki sighs with contentment.

“Thank you,” Marude says when they’re finished. “Though I can’t believe I just got to ride the Bureau Director.”

Yoshitoki turns red, and Marude finds it adorable. “We all know my ferocity is an act.”

“I know.” Marude’s eyes turn tender. “That’s why I love you.”

The next day, Yoshitoki finds his steps lighter. He even whistles to himself as he walks along the hallways, until he realizes someone is following him and whistling in tune.

“Furuta.” His little brother looks just like him as a kid. Yoshitoki often feels guilty for not being able to reach Furuta more.

“I see you finally enjoyed Marude’s ministrations, eh?” Furuta walks past laughing. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell your father.”

“Souta Nimura Washuu Furuta, get back here!”

Marude/Yoshitoki hurt comfort? Make it fluffy please ;-; maybe throw in Matsuri feeling more at ease cause woah his dad likes boys, too

Maruchika? Did someone ask for Maruchika? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

“That’s because you’re a failure. You’d be better off as ghoul fodder.” Tsuneyoshi waves his hands in dismissal.

“Understood, sir.” Yoshitoki keeps his face blank as he leaves his father’s office.

Marude’s eyes probe his friend.

Once far from Tsuneyoshi, Yoshitoki slams his fist into the wall. It’s the most emotion Marude has ever seen from him.

“Let’s talk.”

“Let’s not.”

“Sir, you may be my boss, but you’re also my friend.” Marude leads Yoshitoki into his own office. He shoves a cup of coffee into Yoshitoki’s hands. “I suppose I see now why you’ve been so forgiving of my mistakes. Because your father never forgives yours.”

Yoshitoki sighs. “Truth to be told, he’s angry that I won’t put pressure on Matsuri to have a child.”

“That’s Matsuri and Iyo’s business.” Marude is perturbed. He’s never liked Tsuneyoshi – never liked how the old demon forced Chika to marry and then forced a divorce as soon as they had Matsuri – never liked his strange sway over CCG.

“I agree.”

“Chika, you’re a good father. That’s not nothing, especially…” Marude swallows and sits beside his friend. “Well, it doesn’t seem your father treats you well.”

Yoshitoki smiles at the use of his old name, the name he misses. “Thanks, Maru.” He chuckles. “You never married, and you seem to be doing fine.”

If only the Washuus could be similar.

“You know, when we were new officers, I dreamt of marrying you. There’s nothing to be ashamed of.” Marude shrugs.

Yoshitoki’s mouth opens. “You…”

Marude smiles, inches from Yoshitoki’s face. “What I’m saying is, your son’s not a deviant. It’s normal for some of us.”

“He’s not the only one it’s normal for,” Yoshitoki whispers. He leans over to brushe his lips against Marude.

Marude draws him closer. “Chika – I never thought -”

“Why didn’t you ever ask?” Yoshitoki’s eyes widen. All these wasted years. For a moment, he doesn’t feel tired or pressured or failed. He feels free. He feels what his life was meant to be.

Yoshitoki leans his head on Marude’s chest and lets himself cry.

——————————————————————————

Matsuri had been waiting outside Marude’s office. From the look on Dad’s face, Grandfather was angry about his inaction with Iyo again.

But he wasn’t expecting to – hear – this.

And so Matsuri hurries away, but as he does, a smile grows on his face.

He’s not alone. He’s not a freak.

He can confess to Dad if he needs.

Maybe he and Dad can understand each other, after all.

Father-son angst and comfort between Matsuri and Yoshitoki, pls and thank you, good night.

I do a happy dance with every Yoshitoki ask I receive, Nonny-Mouse…TW for discussions of assault and homophobia (because, Washuus).

“What is wrong with you?” Yoshitoki bursts out, slamming the door to his office shut.

“What?” Matsuri crosses his arms.

“I don’t understand you!” Yoshitoki waves his arms.

“I’ve noticed, Father.”

“Then help me understand!” pled Yoshitoki. “All I wanted was to know if Iyo is expecting or not. Ordinarily I wouldn’t call it my business, but your grandfather wanted to know.”

“We don’t have sex!” Matsuri yelled.

Yoshitoki pales. “I really didn’t need to know that.”

“Well, you might as well have asked for it with that question, Dad.”

“I mean – no – Is everything okay?”

“No!” Matsuri howls. “No, nothing is okay. She’s a woman, Dad.”

Yoshitoki scowls. “Women aren’t lower status than you, Matsuri.”

“No, but they’re to be raped, right?” Matsuri laughs humorlessly.

Yoshitoki’s face cracks. “You know I never hurt your mother.”

“But you let it happen to everyone else.” Matsuri shakes his head. He sinks to a chair and rests his head in his hands. “You would have let me rape Iyo. And now I’m supposed to – and I – I can’t -”

Yoshitoki’s brain whirs. If Matsuri respects women, then why – Oh.

The rumors.

He gasps. His voice trembles. “Matsuri?”

Matsuri hunches over. “Don’t say it.”

Yoshitoki stares at his son. His…very gay son. Why did he never notice? Why did he always see what he wanted?

“Sorry I’m such a disappointment,” Matsuri spits.

“You’ve never been a disappointment.” Yoshitoki puts his hand on Matsuri’s shoulder, and for one moment, father and son see each other without judgement or fear.

They exit the office without another word, and return to their daily lives.

Yoshitoki and Arima bonding where Yoshitoki feels guilty over his family legacy

Yassssss more Yoshitoki.

“You really shouldn’t drink alone.” Yoshitoki pauses outside Arima’s office.

“I just got through a difficult meeting.” At his desk, Arima sips a glass of sake. Eto makes all their meetings difficult, and she bought the sake for him. Plus, she’s Eto, so she’ll probably blow up his apartment if he doesn’t drink it.

“May I join you?” Yoshitoki asks.

Arima waves him in, and Yoshitoki enters the stark office. Truth to be told, he’s always felt jealous of his half-brother. He wonders why he was the chosen heir instead of Kishou. Because he’s a full ghoul with a full life? How meaningful are extra years, when all he sees is his son’s misery?

“Tell me what you’re thinking, Arima.” Yoshitoki accepts a glass of Sake.

“No.” Arima smiles slightly as Yoshitoki takes his first sip. “Tell me what you’re thinking.”

“That our father berated Matsuri the other day.” Yoshitoki sighs. “I failed with him.”

“Kids are always rebellious. Do you ever think something was actually wrong with us, because we weren’t?” Arima leans back.

“Tsuneyoshi struck him. Matsuri. I’ve never hit him before.” Yoshitoki gulps down the sake. “Sometimes I think I should have, like Father did with me. But I promised his mother before they took her I wouldn’t.”

His eyes are sad. He rarely talks about Matsuri’s mother.

Don’t raise him like a Washuu. Send him to Germany, anywhere but here. Keep him safe, because I won’t be able to. Chika. He feels her hot tears on his face, and he wishes he’d been brave enough to rescue her.

The memories hurt too much. “And I don’t want to hit Matsuri. I … I would have rather Father struck me. How am I such a failure of a father?”

“Not wanting to hurt your child makes you a good father. It’s wrong that we’re in this position,” Arima says sadly.

“I wish I saw a way out.” Yoshitoki helps himself to more sake.

For a moment, Arima considers confessing. But no, Tsuneyoshi’s praise matters too much to Yoshitoki.

He settles for, “I think if we see a way – any way – we need to be ready to seize it.”

Yoshitoki nods slowly. “You give me hope, brother. You know I’ve always seen you as a brother.”

Arima feels oddly touched – or maybe that’s the sake. “Thank you, soft heart.”

Yoshitoki grins. Father used to call him that, and not in a nice way. But somehow, he takes pride in it. In every moment he can not be like his family – all the moments that don’t matter – he makes it count.

Au where yoshitoki has a spine and supports matsuri to choose his own way and stands up to tsuneyoshi for matsuri also also for Furuta

Bless you. I love Yoshitoki.

TW for sexual assault and homophobia.

Washuu Yoshitoki paces back and forth in his office. He’s caught Matsuri writing love notes to Urie Kuki three times in the last few months.

It’s wrong. Matsuri is married to Iyo until they produce a child, and in that time he ought to be faithful to her. Yoshitoki never betrayed Matsuri’s mother – he even tried to find her last year, until Tsuneyoshi found out.

Has he taught Matsuri nothing about honor?

Yoshitoki tries not to laugh. He’s a ghoul killing ghouls, someone who bred a child and then allowed his family to take away its mother. The mere notion of honor is preposterous.

“You’re not really worried about that,” Marude says from behind him, ever the voice of reason.

Yoshitoki winces.

His son – Tsuneyoshi’s grandson – is gay.

“There’s nothing wrong with him being gay.” Marude watches Yoshitoki carefully.

“I know.” Yoshitoki breathes in deeply. “But Tsuneyoshi doesn’t.”

How can he explain their secrets to his best friend without betraying him?

Suppose he arranges for Iyo to divorce Matsuri. She’ll be happier, and so will Matsuri. He’ll have to ferret her away to freedom of sorts, lest she face Tsuneyoshi’s wrath.

How can he explain this to Marude?

“I don’t know your secrets,” Marude warns, “but I want to help you.”

Yoshitoki half-smiles. “Contact a divorce lawyer.”

“Shouldn’t you consult Matsuri first?” Marude raises his eyebrows.

“Yes, yes I should.” Yoshitoki sighs. Nothing is normal in this family. Matsuri can wait.

Tsuneyoshi, however, summons a Washuu family meeting the next day. This can’t be a coincidence. Yoshitoki swallows.

“Wonder who’ll die today?” Furuta giggles as they enter Tsuneyoshi’s quarters. His half-brother is a strange one Yoshitoki can never figure out. Souta despises V, yet he always angles himself directly in front of Tsuneyoshi, desperately angling for attention he never gets.

Arima nods at Yoshitoki, impassive as ever. He stands with Ihei Hairu, surrounded by Zero Squad children and Hsaio Ching-Li. Iyo and Matsuri stand close to the door, Yoshitoki and Furuta beside Tsuneyoshi’s desk.

Tsuneyoshi turns his dark eyes to Matsuri. “Is this woman not pleasing you, grandson?”

Matsuri chokes, and Iyo turns deathly pale.

Yoshitoki hangs his head. This is all his fault.

“Your father here was looking into a divorce lawyer,” snipes Tsuneyoshi.

Matsuri goggles at Yoshitoki. “Dad?”

“Matsuri.” Yoshitoki stares at him. “I know.”

“Don’t we all know?” Furuta jokes. His face falls when Tsuneyoshi yields no response.

Matsuri shakes. “I – I can’t -”

“What’s wrong with Iyo? I rather liked her.” Tsuneyoshi’s eyes rake over her. “Not man enough?”

“He’s man enough to know he likes men,” Yoshitoki says quietly.

“What was that?” Tsuneyoshi’s voice is deadly.

“Stop manipulating my son. You’ve taken his mother; you’re not taking his love life on top of that. And you’re not stealing Iyo’s, either.” Yoshitoki can’t believe the words running out of his lips. When was his soul replaced with Marude?

“Father, I don’t understand.” He pleads. “You can’t even respect Souta enough for attention. Why is our family mere tools to you?”

Tsuneyoshi glares daggers at Yoshitoki. “Do you want to die under a quinque?”

“It won’t be mine,” Arima says quietly.

“Souta would, right?” Tsuneyoshi smiles at Souta, and for a moment, the boy’s face brightens.

“It’d be all of us against you, old man.” Furuta sniffs.

Yoshitoki remembers the parting kiss from his wife, the plea that he raise their child well. If you have to fight for him, fight.

And he responded, I will.

He’s long hated that he never fought for her. He will damn sure fight for her son, and all the sons and daughters of the Washuus.

Yoshitoki yanks open the office door. “Let’s go, Matsuri, Iyo.”

To Tsuneyoshi’s ire, the entire family files out of his office.

“Get back here.”

“We’re done lying!” taunts Furuta. “Well, lying for you.”

He angles himself closer to Yoshitoki, with the same eager eyes he bestows on Tsuneyoshi.

Yoshitoki smiles at him, and Furuta gasps with happiness.

“Father.” Outside the mansion, Matsuri has tears in his eyes.

“I know you think you’ve disappointed me. You haven’t – I’ve been the disappointment of a father.” Yoshitoki embraces his son. “I’m sorry I ignored your pain.”

Matsuri hiccups. “I love you, Dad.”Â
