Niji is a rainbow princess

She is, and for her birthday Tsukiyama buys her a kit of rainbow hair dyes. He spends the entire day helping her dye her hair appropriately.

Kaneki and Touka (meaning Touka) buy her makeup.

Naki makes sure she wakes up in a sea of glitter.

Nishiki teaches her the science behind rainbows and gives her a prism as a present.

Irimi and Koma buy her a dress.

Shio, Rikai, and Yusa make her a flower crown.

She’s never had a birthday party like the one spent in hiding in the 24th ward, surrounded by people who love and accept her.

Okay hear me out……Tsukiyama introduces Niji and Kyou?

Oooh I like this.

“Niji, this is my girlfriend, Kyou.” Tsukiyama gestures to the willowy, glamorous woman by his side.

Niji’s eyes are wide. “H – hi.”

“Hi, Niji.” Kyou smiles.

She’s so pretty. Niji is not. She hangs her head.

“I hear you’re like me. A girl with guy parts,” Kyou says softly.

Niji starts. Kyou? Well, now that she looks, Kyou doesn’t have much of a chest…or hips. But she’s so pretty.

“It’s okay to be who you are. I’m happier having transitioned. If you’re happier not transitioning, it doesn’t make you any less of a woman,” Kyou assures her.

“Doesn’t it?” Niji bites her lip. “Kyou, what if I start transitioning and I look like a freak? What if my parents look down from heaven and hate me?”

“If they’re in heaven – and all ghouls are – I think they’ll know better than to hate. I think they’ll be cheering you on.” Kyou produces an expensive magenta lipstick. “Want it?”

Niji nods eagerly.

“It’s okay to take your time deciding, too,” Tsukiyama adds quickly.

“Yes.” Kyou grins. “And we’re here anytime you need to talk.”

Niji’s eyes fill with tears. “Thank you.”

She flings herself into Kyou’s arms, then Tsukiyama’s. She almost feels like she has a family again.

Kaneki says how he’s the One-Eyed King and then Kyou replies with “Well, I didn’t vote for you!” please (I love Kyou so much omg)

I’m so glad! She’s quickly becoming a favorite OC of mine.

“But, maybe – maybe if we tried to meet CCG or at least raid the execution,” Tsukiyama begins. His new girlfriend hangs onto his arm. “It’s Touka’s best friend.”

“And risk our people?” Kaneki looks ill at the thought.

“You do realize,” Kyou cuts in, not giving a shit that she’s not an advisor, “that playing pacifist while people kill you is violence itself, right?”

Kaneki’s voice wobbles. “I am the One-Eyed King. This is what I’ve chosen.”

Kyou smirks. “Well, I didn’t vote for you!”

She spins free of Tsukiyama and sashays off.

“She’s gonna plan something, isn’t she?” Kaneki whispers.

“I’ll try to talk to her,” Tsukiyama says, hurrying after her. Maybe Kaneki can sit with Kyou’s wisdom for a bit.

Because, of course Kyou is planning something.

He might join her, too.

(Edited to add Hajime)

So a teen trans Goat member is struggling with themselves and feels they can’t transition because their parents – who’ve been killed before Goat execs rescued them – were transphobic and it would be insulting their memory. Tsukiyama notices they are struggling so he offers help and comfort as well as helping them use their kagune as well. (we all need supportive lgbt mom shuu)

Oh yes, we need this.

“What do I do?” cries Niji, hugging her ankles to her chest. It’s not her real name; her real name is Dai. But she chose Niji for herself because it means rainbow, just like her bikaku. Plus, she’s trans.

“You be yourself.”

Niji can’t believe that Tsukiyama Shuu, the Gourmet and one of Goat’s powerful executives, cares about her.

“But Mom and Dad hated me being a girl. They said I should be a boy like I was born.”

“Listen, Niji – that is your name, right?” Tsukiyama settles besides her. “I had a friend once. He introduced himself as Kanae. He was a great friend to me when I was sick and didn’t appreciate him. When my family was slaughtered, Kanae saved my life: and right before Kanae died, she told me her name was Karren. She’d been living her life as a male because her parents would have wanted her to carry on their name. But she wanted to live as the girl she was, and she wanted to confess her love for me.”

“I saw her eyes then. They were free, and beautiful, and in that moment there was nothing more in the entire universe that I wanted than for Karren to be herself.” Tsukiyama wipes his eyes. “If she were here, she’d tell you the same.”

“Really?” Niji’s mouth is open.

“Yes.” Tsukiyama shakes his head. “We live in a world that tells us it’s wrong to be the ghouls we were born to be. We also live in a  world that tells us we have to identify with the gender we were born with, or in Karren’s case, the gender her parents wished. We have to change all of those conditions to be free.”

“You think so?” Niji smiles.

“Yes. But you don’t have to transition if you don’t want to yet. Wait until you’re ready. That being said, I can totally give you fashion tips.” Tsukiyama springs to his feet. “Also, FYI, I’m bisexual, so welcome to the LGBTQ ghoul community.”

Niji giggles and accepts Tsukiyama’s outstretched hand.

“Come on, rainbow. I’m giving kids kagune lessons in an hour. Show up.” Tsukiyama winks, and Niji winks back.

imagine since the ghouls and humans are working together and the majority of goat practically worships sasaki, the anteiku squad comes in like “ehhhhhh he’s a dumbass” and urie in his head is like “these are my people” sits down with them anteiku squad starts recounting all the stupid stories they had of kaneki

OH MY GOD CAN THIS HAPPEN.

“Kaneki is amazing,” sighs one of the GOAT children.

“He’s a dumbass!” Serpent grumbles.

“Yes, but he’s my dumbass,” Rabbit shoots back.

“He’s my dumbass!” cries the Gourmet. “Mine! Just once, Touka-chan!”

Kaneki? A dumbass? Urie veers into their group. You are my people. “I’ve been calling him a dumbass since I found out he would be our Squad Leader.”

“You’re Urie, right? I’m Touka.” Rabbit holds out her hand with a smile.

He shakes it gingerly. “Yeah, I recognized you.”

“He once beat the shit out of me when Hide was in danger,” Nishiki recalls. “That being said, I had also beat the shit out of both of them.”

“Yeah, you kinda asked for that one,” Touka teases.

“I once tricked him into becoming dinner at the ghoul restaurant.” Tsukiyama frowns. “Not my finest hour.”

“Uh.” Urie blinks. “I once…got mad and told him where to shove it?”

“Oh did you?” Touka crosses her arms. “Do tell me more.”

“Touka would know.” Tsukiyama wiggles his eyebrows.

“Shut up.” Touka sighs. “I also punched him around a lot when we were younger. He didn’t know ghoul things, and he made me mad, and I didn’t know how else to handle it.”

“Yeah, I mean, that’s why I made his Squad Leader hell, too. I didn’t know where to place my anger.” Urie sighed.

“See, we’re alike.” Tsukiyama spread his hands.

“I didn’t try to let him be eaten as entertainment!” Urie exclaims.

“Oh, you think that’s bad?” Tsukiyama waves Ayato over. “Ayato, what’re you’re thoughts on Kaneki?”

“My brother-in-law is a dumbass,” grumbles the second Rabbit.

“I like you,” Urie says.

“Wait to you hear what he allowed.” Tsukiyama cackles. “See, we’re all people who’ve done terrible things, just like you at CCG. And if we can unite with each other, we can unite with you.”

Im lov Kyou???? Please give us more of her? What’s her sister’s name?

Writing about Kyou, Paragon of Salt, was a delightful surprise. 😀

“This is Chiharu.” Kyou points languidly towards a smaller, curvier girl with the same luminescent hair.

“Hi! You’re Tsukiyama, right?” Chiharu can’t be older than seventeen. She’s clearly intimidated by the Gourmet, and stands slightly behind her older sister.

“I am. A pleasure to meet you, Mademoiselle.” Tsukiyama bows before her, and Chiharu can’t help but giggle.

Kyou rolls her eyes affectionately.

“Is this the guy you’ve been sneaking off to see the last week? At least, I assume it’s a guy.” Chiharu taps her fingers together. “Are you two dating?!”

“What?!” Kyou gasps. “No, it’s not like that.”

Tsukiyama’s face falls.

Chiharu points towards him.

“Are you okay?” Kyou pauses. She just – she can’t really believe that the famed gourmet would love a salt bucket like her.

“I’d be more okay if you were my girlfriend.” Tsukiyama pouts.

“Really?” Kyou’s mouth falls open.

“Yes. You’re a breath of fresh air, belle.” His heart flutters as she takes his hands in hers.

“I’d be honored.”

Tsukiyama sweeps her off her feet and kisses her right in front of Chiharu. “You make me so happy, belle!”

Tsukiyama falls in love with a ghoul at Goat. Everyone is supportive of his crush etc so when he talks to this ghoul, one of the first things they say is that they can’t stand and extremely dislike Kaneki and only joined Goat because their sister asked them too. Tsukiyama finds them irritating but also clever and beautiful etc (please choose whether this ghoul is male, female or neither and name them if you can)

“You got this,” Nishiki whispers. Banjou gives Tsukiyama a thumbs up. Even Kaneki winks.

Tsukiyama rushes over to Kyou, the long-legged, blonde vixen he’s been eyeing since GOAT assembled in the 24th ward. “Coffee?”

She laughs nervously as she continues filing coffee grounds into ration containers. “Me?”

“Yes, ma cherie.”

Kyou narrows her eyes, but stops her work. Tsukiyaama putters about, brewing coffee to place in her hand.

They stroll down the hallway, away from others. Kyou clears her throat. “So what did you wish to talk about?”

“How are things going for you?” Tsukiyama finds her direct nature intimidating.

“You want the nice version or the truth, dear?” Kyou flips her hair over her shoulder.

“The truth,” Tsukiyama says suspiciously.

She scowls. “I fucking hate our king.”

“Kaneki? How can you hate him? He’s an innocent cheesecake.” Tsukiyama gasps.

“And about as dense,” Kyou counters.

“Then why are you here?” Tsukiyama can’t believe their date is going this sour this quickly. And that Kaneki had approved this.

“My sister.” Kyou shrugged. Her eyes flash. “I just…he’s so inactive. He’s going to get us all killed, and I refuse to act like this is a good thing.”

“You sound personally offended. You don’t even know him,” Tsukiyama says.

“Don’t I?” Kyou sighs. “I feel betrayed by King Kaneki. I – I joined because of my sister, yes, but also because wanted to rally around someone who desired to help humans and ghouls. Someone who didn’t fit neatly into categories and worked to reconcile the two. All I wanted was to know it was possible.”

Tsukiyama waits. Annoyed, yes, but also curious. There’s something behind her words.

“I don’t fit neatly into categories either. I was born a male, but I’m a woman. I just wanted to know it was possible to usher in a world where there aren’t binaries. Male, female; human, ghoul. But if even those who preach it don’t practice it, is there any hope for me?” Kyou smiles.

She’s surely freaked him out. She hates his friend, and she’s not the female he thought. He’ll regret this date.

But to her surprise, Shuu’s eyes have misted over. He can’t help but remember Kanae. In the end, she found her truth.

Hopefully Kyou can without dying. As frustrating as her snap judgement of Kaneki is, he feels admiration for her as well. He wants a second date.

He leans over and clinks his coffee mug against hers. “I think you have a beautiful way with words, belle.”
