Aura and Urie regularly lowkey fight over Mutsuki when he’s not around but one time Mutsuki catches them in the middle of an argument and neither Aura or Urie know what to do so Urie just blurts out “marry me” to Mutsuki

“Mutsuki, here’s some coffee.” Aura bustles over to greet Mutsuki the moment he steps out his door, rubbing his eyes in the morning light.

Urie scowls. “Mutsuki! I hired Touka to make pancakes.” Having Sasaki and Touka in the Chateau has certainly improved their food quality.

Mutsuki’s eyes brighten. “Yes, please.”

As Mutsuki hurries to the kitchen Aura narrows his eyes at Urie and draws a finger across his throat. Urie sticks his tongue out.

That’s it, Aura realizes with a snap. He’s going to bake Mutsuki the best cake ever.

Three-layered. Like a wedding cake.

Aura sits back to allow Urie to fawn over Mutsuki during breakfast. He’ll make up for everything with his cake idea.

That afternoon, Aura steals Higemaru’s strawberry-stuffed cake recipe and slips into the kitchen.

“What are you doing?” Saiko looks up, her hand most definitely in the cookie jar. Her other hand is on Hsaio’s chest.

Aura gulps. “Baking Tooru a cake.”

Hsaio and Saiko exchange grins.

“We’ll leave you to it then,” Saiko says slyly.

Urie bounds in five minutes later. “I smell baking!”

“I’m baking Tooru a cake,” Aura grumbles, hugging the mixing bowl to his chest.

“Let me decorate it.”

“No!” Aura grabs the bowl of emerald frosting he made, balancing it precariously with the mixing bowl. “Mine.”

Tooru’s!” Urie begs. “Not yours. Let me help, please.” He will not be owned by this overgrown runt.

“Nope.” Aura screams as Urie lunges for him. The bowls fly in the air.

“What’s all this?” Mutsuki strolls into the kitchen to see Urie covered in frosting and Aura dripping vanilla cake mix.

Well, that’s it. He’ll take a page out of Takeomi’s book. Urie drops to his knees. “Marry me!”

Songs that make you think of Mutsuki/Sasaki x Kaneki? Starset my demons reminds me of them imo

Ooh.

1. I feel like “Demons” by Imagine Dragons is pretty applicable to any character/situation in Tokyo Ghoul.

2. “End Game” by Taylor Swift might be something Mutsuki sings to Kaneki.

3. “Angels and Airwaves” by Angel Haze is probably something the two of them have needed to hear in their lives. ❤

4. “Hearts Like Ours” by The Naked and Famous.

5. “Recover” by Chvrches.

Mutsuki secretly retains his yandere feelings for his Sensei after fighting Saiko and Urie and works with them to get him out of Dragon hoping he’ll have a shred of affection for his former subordinate or will be overjoyed at the hand he had in saving him which he is. Kaneki is elated to see Mutsuki again and Touka let’s him take Mutsuki on a coffee and bookstore date to make him happy because god knows the poor kids need it

“Touka.” Kaneki, pale and weak and sweating, grabs her in a kiss.

Mutsuki watches, happy. Mostly. He misses Sensei. Like he’s watching a dream end. But it’s okay. He has Saiko and Urie.

Doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt though.

“Mutsuki!” Kaneki turns to him next, and Mutsuki starts. “I’m so sorry!”

“You are?” Mutsuki asks. His voice is wobbly.

“To all of you.” Kaneki embraces the Quinx one at a time. Even Aura.

Mutsuki cherishes every moment of his hug before leaving with Urie and Saiko.

Two weeks later, Mutsuki is surprised to see Kaneki on the door of the Chateau. “Sensei?”

“Mutsuki, would you want to get coffee and search the bookstore with me?” Kaneki asks nervously.

Mutsuki hesitates. He shouldn’t. This is not going to help him.

“Touka said you seemed to miss me especially hard, so I wanted to make it up to you,” Kaneki adds.

She did? She doesn’t hate him? Mutsuki brightens. “Yes, let’s go.”

The coffee is the best Mutsuki’s had, and he and Sensei manage to find at least three new haiku books they’ve been wanting.

“Thank you!” Mutsuki beams at Sensei.

“Of course. We should keep hanging out.” Kaneki swallows. “Actually…Urie has asked me to return to the Chateau. But I don’t want to if Touka and I would upset you.”

“No, please do.” Mutsuki clutches Kaneki’s hand. “Please.”

He gets to live with Kaneki again. They can work on a healthy friendship. And maybe Touka can give him some advice on the sly looks Urie’s been giving Mutsuki.

He begins to cry.

“What’s wrong?” Kaneki asks in alarm.

“I’m just so happy,” Mutsuki whispers.

The adventures of my odd brotps: Mutsutou, Haikarren, Mutsuhina, and Ayaurie.

Mutsutou

– Once Mutsuki and Touka reconciled, he first began to appreciate her as a mother figure before as a friend.

– Mutsuki apologized to Yomo, and Touka overheard. She then invited Mutsuki for a cup of coffee and entertained him with stories of Ken at Anteiku, and her wild past. That’s how they became besties.

– One night, Kaneki and Urie came home from a meeting to discover Touka and Mutsuki giggling over an empty bottle of blood wine (which does not hurt ghoul babies). They became alarmed before Touka opened her mouth and began to spill all the embarrassing Sasaki stories Mutsuki had told her. The two couples stayed up all night talking.

– Mutsuki accompanies Touka to any doctor appointments Kaneki can’t make, which is also how he became close to Hinami.

Haikarren

– Once, Karren and Hairu got wigs to look like each other’s hair. Tsukiyama and Ui were very confused and scared.

– Hairu took Karren out shopping for lingerie Shuu would like. It was fun for her, too, because Karren is very generous with the Tsukiyama’s money. Hairu bought plenty of outfits to make Ui faint.  She immediately texted a picture of him on the floor to Karren.

– Tsukiyama, of course, will not let Ui forget that.

– They both work for the Human-Ghoul alliance, and they make a devilish pair – hyper Hairu, dramatic Karren. No one is ever bored, not even the ghouls or humans arrested by them.

– Matsumae got to know Hairu through her friendship with Karren. She then forgave Hairu and once threatened Ui that if he hurt Hairu, she’d break the law to eat him.

– Karren had Hairu as her Maid of Honor, and vice versa.

Mutsuhina

– Hinami began the friendship. She held Mutsuki as he cried about his parents, and she gave him encouragement that there are good parents out there, too.

– Mucchy loves hearing stories about Hinami’s parents. Good parents are fairy tales to him.

– Hinami insisted on doing Mutsuki’s makeup for a double date with Urie and Ayato. Subtle, masculine makeup. Mutsuki was pleased. Urie was very flustered.

– They often high-five with their kagunes. Once Mutsuki even used his bikaku to copy Hinami’s kagune. She was flattered.

Ayaurie

– they are like two shaken soda bottles of chaos and salt.

– most conversations end with them yelling. Not due to fighting, just their personalities and PASSION.

– Their friendly greetings for each other include “Dumbass” and “imbecile.”

– Mutsuhinatou have had to shut them down more than once. Once by calling Kaneki, who threatened to break 206 bones between the two of them. But the second time…

– They invoked Saiko’s method. And forewarned the bois. But when Ayato and Urie responded with eagerness for boob attacks, it was not Mutsuki and Hinami who began to slowly pull up their shirts.

– The bois then began screaming for a different reason.

Crack head cannon: After kaneki is extracted from dragon, q squad encounters the women they saw aura and mutsuki try to kill earlier now at the hospital and witness her punch a doctor ( that nobody liked cause he was more interested in dissecting kaneki then saving him). Saiko suggests they should go talk to her cause she might know her maman, which they do and it’s leads to a whole bunch of revelations.

“There they are.” Saiko and the rest of the Quinx have finally arrived at the hospital. Tokyo’s controlled enough that they can visit Maman for an hour.

She waves at Hide, Tsukiyama Shuu, and the manager of :Re. They all wave back, though their attention remains on the white-haired doctor talking to them.

“Perhaps he might better serve the world in a lab,” says the creaky old doctor, pushing his glasses up his nose.

“Oh, hell no!” The pretty ukaku the Quinx saw from earlier leaps to her feet and punches him square in the jaw. “Not on my watch, you’re not.”

“Amen.” Hide claps.

“Miss -”

“We saw nothing,” Tsukiyama says innocently.

The doctor scowls before scurrying away.

“I’ll call Dad and find a proper doctor.” Tsukiyama leaps to his feet and hurries off in search of better phone service.

“Do you know Saiko’s Maman?” Hsaio asks.

Mutsuki turns red. He and Aura exchange glances.

“I’m his wife,” says the ghoul with a shrug.

“Wait – what?” Urie sputters.

“Seriously?” Higemaru grins.

“AIEEEEEEEE!” Saiko launches herself into the ghoul’s arms. “Hi! Hello! I’m Saiko! I’m your daughter, kind of, I guess!”

The ghoul laughs nervously. “I’m Touka.”

“We should talk,” Mutsuki says nervously.

Touka nods. “That sounds good to me. It’s nice to meet Ken’s family.”

Matsuri strips and declares his love for Sasaki/Kaneki in his office instead of for Urie. He stalks after Sasaki to profess his undying feelings and inadvertently encounters Tsukiyama. Both are quick to pick up on the others passionate and theatrical personality and see a rival in the other for Sasaki/Kaneki’s love. Meanwhile Kaneki/Sasaki is actually secretly seeing Mutsuki

Okay but am I the only one desperate to see Tsukiyama and Matsuri interact? The DRAMA!

“I will do everything for you…KANEKI KEN!” Matsuri rips off his shirt and stalks across his office.

He must find Kaneki. Kiss him. Tell him his feelings. Kiss him again.

Kaneki will help bring down the Washuu’s toxic masculinity. Kaneki will accept him as a good man.

Matsuri rushes towards Goat’s last known location, a cafe called :Re.

“Wait, wait, wait. Just who are you, ma chere?” An elegant man pushes Matsuri back as soon s he rings the door, sweating, out of breath, and lacking most of his clothing.

“Fiend! Do you not work for Kaneki Ken? I must see him!” cries Matsuri.

The tall man’s eyes gleam. “Is that so? Tres bien! May the best man win!”

He sweeps down in a bow before Matsuri. “Tsukiyama Shuu, at your service, rival.”

“Washuu Matsuri,” Matsuri stammers, suddenly afraid. Tsukiyama. The one they tried to kill.

Tsukiyama glares at him as recognition finally dawns on his face.

After a moment of staring, they both dash for the back of :Re.

“What the fuck?!” yells :Re’s manager. She’s probably a pretty girl. Matsuri wouldn’t know.

“Kaneki my pet,” wails Tsukiyama, throwing open a door to an office.

“Kaneki, my fire, my love, my life!” shrieks Matsuri.

Kaneki sits bolt upright in his chair. The chair he’s straddling with Mutsuki Tooru.

All four men scream.

Kaneki responds to Mutsuki’s letter/bait and meets him at the Chateau in hopes of rescuing Yoriko. He’s overcome with emotion as all the memories he had there in the past well up inside him making him falter in his initial mission and Mutsuki is overjoyed at seeing his beloved former mentor again, thinking he can be further sustained with the knowledge that his Sensei still feels something for him and the other Q’s since the thought of them made him cry

*weeps*

“Sensei!” Mutsuki rushes up to Kaneki and throws his arms around the One-Eyed King, his enemy, the liar who loves him. “You came!”

“Of course I did, Mutsuki.” Kaneki swallows and brushes Mutsuki’s pale hair out of his eyes. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.” Mutsuki’s eyes gleam.

“You’re not. Let me help you, Mucchan.” Kaneki wraps his arms around Mutsuki. “I never meant to hurt you. I never meant to abandon you.”

“Then why did you?” Anger wells up in Mutsuki, but he can’t bear to pull out his knife and stab Sensei. He’s just…angry. And sad. He wants a tighter hug.

“Because I had to. If I – If I told you what happened with Arima, no one would believe me. But it’s the truth, I swear.” There’s something about Mutsuki that convinces Kaneki that he can tell Mutsuki the truth. That he didn’t kill Arima. He couldn’t.

“Tell me,” says Mutsuki softly, but he’s already guessed. Sasaki isn’t a killer. Unlike him.

And yet, someone good and pure, a good and pure liar like Sensei, thinks he’s worthwhile. He, a wicked and selfish liar. Mutsuki blinks back tears.

Sensei believes in him.

Somehow, this makes him want to listen. To avoid the knife. To talk more. To sustain him.

Because all he’s really wanted is acceptance, and he has that now.

crack head cannon: ken kaneki’s full name is kenneth kaneki and touka calls him kenneth when she is mad, annoyed, or as a last resort when she repeatedly tries to get his attention. Quinx squad witness it for the first time and they think its the funniest shit cause he’s never heard of sasaki’s real full name before that.

“I’m hungry,” Touka mumbles, rubbing her swollen belly. She reclines on the sofa in the Chateau, feeling like a beautiful whale. She’s eight months pregnant and not very happy right now. But Saiko and Hsaio just did her toenails, and she’s never had nail polish before.

Mutsuki leaps to his feet, but Touka shakes her head. “Let Ken handle it.”

Kaneki is conferring with Higemaru and Urie across the room.

“Ken?” Touka calls.

He doesn’t appear to hear over Higemaru’s excited chatter.

“He’s literally showing Kaneki his monster drawings,” Aura says.

“Ken.” Touka narrows her eyes and clears her throat. “KENNETH!”

Kaneki jumps. “Touka? Is it time? What’s wrong?”

“I want Rc chips.” Touka pouts.

“Coming right up!” He putters into the kitchen, and Saiko finally releases her peals of laughter.

Kenneth?” Aura cries in disbelief. “You’ve got to be shitting me.”

“Like the Barbie doll?” Urie grins wickedly.

“Yup.” Touka holds a finger to her lips. “Don’t tell him I told you.”

So of course, the moment Kaneki hurries back into the den, all the Quinx chime in, “Hiiiiiii Kenneth.”

crack head canon: After the club night with everyone dressed as women, the party goers crash in the living room. Urie comes down stairs the next morning and doesn’t recognize anyone except saiko. He asks about what happened and shizaru replies. Relization hits him like a brick and he backs away to his room with a single “forget I even asked”

“L-O-L what even happened last night?” Urie gazes in shock at the ladies Saiko has invited over. “You should have told me you were planning a sleepover.”

“Oh shut up, Urie,” Saiko grumbles, rubbing her eyes from where she’s flopped across an orange-haired girl.

A sexy green-haired woman stretches on the floor, accidentally nudging the pale-haired girl asleep in their chair awake.

“You don’t wanna know,” says the orange-haired woman in Shirazu’s voice.

Urie’s mouth pops open. His eyes bug. That’s Mutsuki on the floor and Sasaki in the chair.

“You should have come with us, Urie,” Sasaki says. God dammit, how does their Squad Leader wear his makeup better than Saiko? And those are definitely fake eyelashes!

Urie’s breath comes quicker. His throat closes. “Ack – forget I asked!”

“Scareeeeeed?” Shirazu teases as Urie flies upstairs.

“Yes!” He screams.

How urie would treat mutsuki on their first date.

Like royalty.

“You look like royalty,” Urie says, nodding at Mutsuki’s silky black suit. It fits him perfectly.

“So do you.” Mutsuki giggles. He wishes he could think of a more clever line!

“We’re having an expensive dinner. Thanks to Nishino’s RC research, we can actually eat food again.” Urie smiles. “And we’ll have dessert.”

“You don’t like sweets,” Mutsuki says with worry.

“But you do, and you deserve them.” Urie smiles. “May I hold your hand?”

Mutsuki sputters. “I’ve never had anyone ask that before.” Color rises to his cheeks. “Yes, Urie, you may.”

Urie trembles with excitement as they walk to the restaurant.

“This is…the most expensive one in Tokyo.” Mutsuki goggles at the door.

“I want to show you how much I care for you,” Urie admits, casting his eyes towards the floor.

“Hey.” With his free hand, Mutsuki taps Urie’s chin to get his attention. “I already do.”

For a moment, they stare into each other’s eyes.

“Uh, excuse me?” the hostess asks hesitantly. “Do you have reservations?”

“Yes!” Urie nods, jolted out of his reverie. As the hostess leads them to their seats, he whispers in Mutsuki’s ear, “But no reservations about you.”

He knows Mutsuki like puns. And indeed, Mutsuki turns back to him and gives his hand another squeeze.

At the end of their evening, with their stomachs full and their taste buds satisfied, they walk slowly back to the Chateau, hand-in-hand. Neither wants this evening to end.

Finally they go inside, and Urie walks Mutsuki to his door. “Good night.”

“Wait.” Mutsuki moves closer to kiss a stunned Urie. “There. Now tonight is perfect.”
