– Yamori visits his lover late at night, after four months away.
– His lover scares him, to be honest, which is why he visits so infrequently. They are his only human friend, and they knew him before his arrest and torture, back before he became Jason, but they only became his lover recently.
– He hopes they don’t think they can save him. They can’t.
– His lover, however, has no such illusions. Only faint hopes that he can heal.
– His insecurities surge when he crawls into their room to find them reading a pregnancy book, their stomach a little fuller than than he remembers.
– They fight. He says he wouldn’t blame them if the child was not his, which infuriates his lover into taunting him that he’s around so infrequently, he wouldn’t know.
– Their fight ends when he realizes his lover isn’t scared of him, nor backing away from him. They see him, the real him, and they’re not afraid.
– He apologizes. They are the one person who will ever hear him apologize.
– They also apologize back, and the next few days together are bittersweet, as his lover does not expect him to stay in the child’s life, and he thinks it’s better that he doesn’t.
