Mutsurie being happy? If that’s ok? My heart still hurts

GUYS. I WILL NEVER NOT CRY FOR MUTSURIE.

– Urie was probably forced into confessing by Touka. Emboldened that Touka snagged Kaneki by asking “are you a virgin,” Urie writes out personal and awkward questions to ask Mutsuki and weighs each one.

– He finally settles for “are you open to dating other men.”

– Mutsuki is very taken aback, but sweet. “Of course.”

– Urie: *face beet red* “I AM TOO.” *voice cracks*

– Mutsuki: “U – Urie?”

Urie: *panics* “Oh fuck me”. *realizes* “WAIT not like that! I didn’t mean it like that! I just meant – I like you – maybe -” *ducks from an apple Touka sends hurling across the cafe* “okay not maybe – I really like you!”

– Mutsuki is stunned. “Are you…asking me out?”

– Urie nods. That’s about all he can manage.

– Mutsuki’s heart beats so happily he fears exploding. He’s leaning closer and closer to Urie, trying to see if Urie is sincere, if he’s real, if this is really happening…

– Touka sees both of their distress and casually approaches to inform Urie that coffee is free for them both, so Urie better have a nice date planned for this evening.

How would you suggest trying to write characters from Tokyo Ghoul, this is something I struggle with, especially with Uta

Okay but to be FAIR Uta is an enigma, even for his bestie/husbando Yomo, so you’re not alone there.

It depends. I take any and all insights into their characters revealed by the manga, and sometimes I like researching any psychological roots of their idiosyncrasies. And sometimes I try to imagine what kind of background they’d have to turn out the way they are.

Other suggestions: What’s a situation that might startle the character? Make them question their life? Make them angry? Sad? Happy? What would it take for them to fall in love? What would scare them?

If you don’t know, make it up yourself. And roll with your ideas until it suits them.

You can be as creative as you want. 🙂

If a child was born in cochlea, what do you think would happen to it? I mean, they’d probably kill it sure, but what if the mother refuses to give their bab up. Do you think the CCG will give up and let her raise it, then try and kill it later when it’s older or something else?

Hehe…I may or may not have written a fanfiction about a pregnant ghoul in cochlea.

Tbh, I think they’d probably follow the mother for science, before and after delivery. (Aside: how do ghouls nurse? Is ghoul milk okay? Is human milk okay, too? Speculation welcome).

If the mother has valuable information, they’d allow her to live for a bit. Maybe if they wanted to keep studying the kid, they’d allow her to stay with her child for a while.

But yes. Then, if V was still around, they’d probably kill both the mother and child.

Wow that’s dark. T-T

I was just reading through the manga, and I realised something. Yoshimura, no matter how kind he is, is deep down a bad person (I don’t know how to word that, correct me if I’m wrong). He left Eto in the 24th ward, an actual hellhole, where she could’ve easily been killed instead of leaving her with a nice ghoul family or an orphanage (a place she could easily blend into). There aren’t enough words to finish my small rant, but despite what people think, he’s not the best person.

I mostly agree, Nonny-Mouse. ❤

Personally, I wouldn’t exactly say Yoshimura is a bad person. I mean, I think a key theme of TG is that everyone is morally grey. Killers can be kind, defenders of humanity can be sadistic, and even the main protagonist (Kanek) and villain (Furuta) have the same goal in the end.

For Yoshimura…he helped Touka, Ayato, Yomo, Irimi, Koma, Kaneki. In a way, he saved many of them from their violence. That’s beautiful.

And without knowing who exactly Noroi was, I’m hesitant to say he left her in a hellhole without caring, because it’s honestly possible Noroi was his safest option. But.

That being said, once the initial danger was passed, Yoshimura didn’t try to take Eto back. Maybe he still feared for her safety if V returned; maybe he feel guilty over Ukina, etc. But as time wore on, he still risked himself to save many other self-destructive ghouls, yet never his daughter.

His passivity is the cause of Eto’s abandonment issues, which she herself says.

Yoshimua’s best intentions, if they even were his best, weren’t even close to enough for his daughter. And that’s super tragic.

I think maybe this is why he flat-out tells the investigators “I am cognizant that I am evil.” But then, if he knew, why didn’t he do anything?

Gah.

So this is a long-winded explanation about why, personally, I wouldn’t classify him as bad. But I also wouldn’t classify him as good either; he’s definitely a twist, if not an inversion, on the ‘wise old man mentor.’

He’s a sinner with good intentions, just like almost all the characters. 😥

What kinda frustrates me is how Furuta had Rize in the end, but instead of living the life that he wanted with her, he basically made her a pawn in his plan. I mean, I sort of get why he did it, but part of me wishes that he actually chose that. Can you make him run away with Rize after freeing her himself?

I hate that his nihilism won out in the end, for both of their lives. 😦

– Riddled with guilt over her miserable existence, Furuta asks Uta to seize Rize from Yomo for him. He then flees with Rize into the countryside and attempts to nurse her back to health.

– After years of captivity and starvation, she takes time to recover. He views his actions as penance.

– When she finally remembers that he started this by, you know, dropping steel beams on her, she is (rightly) furious. She thinks of this as the worst betrayal, and tells him that just because he didn’t rape her like his father would have, doesn’t mean he’s a good person.

– Furuta knows she’s right, but also tells her that his jealousy was not his primary motivation. V was after her, and he thought death might be better than having V catch her again.

– Rize is appalled at his idea of ‘mercy’ and the choice that wasn’t his to make. She accuses him of making excuses, which…he isn’t exactly, because he’s telling the truth, but she’s not wrong when she tells him she hates him.

– Furuta, ashamed and quite cognizant of the depth of his sins, asks what she wants him to do. She tells him to die, and leaves.

– Furuta stays away, because she clearly hates him, and he can’t say he doesn’t deserve it. But soon enough V catches onto her.

– He sacrifices his pride to ask Kaneki for help, and nearly dies trying to save her, due to his advanced aging.

– FYI, The revelation to CCG about the Washuus, instead of Dragon, is the situation that causes ghouls and humans to unite.

– Furuta thinks he was saved by Kaneki’s kagune during the battle, but he’s wrong. It was Rize’s. He doesn’t learn that for a long time, though.

– In the aftermath, as Furuta works to establish peace with TSC, Rize (who works with Kimi on food development) approaches him and asks if they can talk. They rekindle their friendship first.

– Eventually, Rize and Furuta acknowledge – with a push from Touka – that they might have a path forward.

– Rize, never one to wait, promptly asks Furuta to elope.

– At the end, Rize is pregnant with their first child at the same time Touka is pregnant with her second.

Since I’ve been sick and refuse to believe that she’s dead (those two things have nothing to do with each other, but bear with me ^^;;), maybe some cute scenarios/headcaons involving Ichika with “grandma” Eto~?

I believe in Eto. Unless Ishida confirms otherwise, she’s alive to me.

-Touka and Kaneki totally come home from a date night to find that babysitter Banjou has been kicked out, and replaced with a laughing green-haired witch.

– Eto teases them that she’s read her stories to Ichika, and Touka promptly tells her to drop dead.

– It turns out that this is partially true. Eto has concocted new, child-appropriate stories for Ichika.

– Ichika loves Grandma Eto, who is “just like me.”

– “I wanna be just like Grandma Eto!” she declares, to the dismay of both her parents. At the same time, somewhere else in Tokyo, Arima rolls over in his grave.

– Eto definitely helps Ichika hide a lifetime supply of candy in her room.

What happened the first time Touka walked in on Yomo and Uta making out?

– Touka shrieks. She fights the urge to immediately phone CCG and ask if they  can gouge her eyes out.

– After she’s fled the premises, she calms down. After all, she is a very sex-positive person. It’s fine. She just didn’t want to SEE it herself.

– Yes, that.

– Exactly.

– Mmm-hmmm.

– Her cafe is cleaned thoroughly as she distracts herself.

– Nishiki, Hinami, and Kaneki all notice something wrong, but say nothing.

– Unfortunately, before they can ask, Uta strolls into the cafe and asks if she’s okay after “catching me and your uncle in a compromising position.”

– Kaneki spills his coffee, Hinami hugs Touka, Nishiki laughs, and Ayato is totally stunned, because he’s the only one who never saw this coming.

– Yomo rushes into the cafe just then, red-faced and sputtering apologies while simultaneously threatening to murder Uta.

Hey, just wondering if you have and Yoshitoki/Marude HCS, sfw and nswf?

I love my Maruchika.

SFW

– They both secretly loved each other for a while as partners at CCG. But Yoshitoki never realized his feelings until he was placed in an arranged marriage by his father.

– After the untimely death of Matsuri’s mother (read: tsuneyoshi killed her), Marude offered Yoshitoki much help with the baby, and a shoulder to cry on.

– This turned into a real relationship. One time they took Maru’s motorcycle for a weekend away from everyone without anyone else knowing, except Arima, who babysat.

– Yoshitoki loves cooking for Marude, and he’s pretty good at it (especially for a ghoul).

– Matsuri once called his father out for his ‘suspicious’ relationship with Marude, while he was forced to marry Iyo.

– Yoshitoki wrote an entire letter to Marude to be opened after death, in which he explained everything – the lies, the investigators, the Washuus, the family expectations he wasn’t able to break free from.

NSFW

– The first time they made love, Yoshitoki’s kakugans accidentally activated. He narrowly avoided revealing them to Marude. Ever since then, he’s been very, very careful.

– He’s, er, had steamy dreams in which he does tell Marude the truth, and Maru accepts him.

– Marude loves pillow talk and cuddling after. He will not accept quickies, or leaving that night. If they’re having sex, he’s staying the night.

– Yoshitoki will let Marude bite him, and quite enjoys it, but he will never bite Marude. It feels too ghoulish.

– Both of them love the feeling of losing themselves in each other, of forgetting their lives, of focusing only on their best friend and lover. It helps them stay sane.

Washuu siblings do something together, like a normal family (or as normal as they can get).

I love it.

– It’s Yoshitoki’s idea, and it wasn’t hard to gain Arima’s agreement. Furuta was harder, though.

– Eventually, they appeared in his apartment with plans and IXA in case the devil clown decided to try anything.

– When discussing plans – Furuta’s horror movie suggestion was nixed immediately by Yoshitoki – they soon realize that they are all interested in a butterfly garden. But pretending not to be, for fear of appearing ‘unmasculine.’

– Furuta can name every plant in the garden, and Arima nearly cries with feels when a Monarch butterfly lands on his glasses.

– Yoshitoki has a guidebook of every butterfly species, and is particularly adept at discovering the camouflaged ones.

– They take a selfie together (do I even have to say it was Furuta’s idea) and none of them will ever admit it, but they each keep a copy in their wallets.
