❤ You can indeed. I’m okay with dark, terrible, and sensitive subjects so long as they aren’t glorified. ❤ ❤ ❤ hugs ❤
That being said, dear readers: here’s a trigger warning for sexual assault, and I’ll post it below the cut.
Uta
– You tell Uta what happened, trying to downplay it, almost making light of it. Like it shouldn’t bother you. Even though it does.
– When you finish with a nervous laugh, quipping “guess I shouldn’t get drunk anymore,” Uta snaps out of his shock. He crosses the room and wraps his arms around you.
– You try to swallow the lump in your throat. “Are you mad at me?”
– He’s appalled. He strokes your hair and growls out the words. “No. It wasn’t your fault. Someone … forced you to have sex when you didn’t want to.”
– You begin to cry, because he’s naming it without saying the word you’re somehow afraid to say. And because he’s right, but you – you can’t stop thinking that you did something different, something wrong.
– “Do you want to say here tonight? You can stay as long as you feel safe.” Uta rubs your back. “And I will always be here to listen if and when you want to talk.”
– You nod. He peers into your eyes not with pity, just empathy and a flicker of indignation, and faith. Uta may be a ghoul, but you do feel safe with him, in his house…and for now, that’s what you need.
Yomo Renji
– You notice his kakugans glowing halfway through your story, and ask him if he’s angry.
– “For you,” he insists, clenching his fists. A tear leaks down his cheek. It’s not fair, it’s not right – how dare anyone hurt you?
– He’ll find whatever medical or emotional care you need.
– “Don’t think of me as broken,” you snap, and Yomo’s eyes burn as he reassures you, “Never.”
– You wrap your arms around you, and he probably lifts you up and cradles you in his arms.
Furuta Nimura
– So because Fruit-chan is who he is, he probably heard a rumor that your assailant was really grabby at your party, and that you disappeared with them for a while. Since your behavior changed after that, he – like the insecure asshole he is – assumed you cheated on him.
– You’re insulted when he finally confronts you, a few weeks later. “Nothing happened,” you insist. “I love you, even if you can’t believe it.” To be honest, it’s a black hole in your memory.
– “I … don’t remember.” You start to shake, because memories are flooding back, memories that are incredibly fucked-up and memories you don’t want to remember at all.
– Furuta sees you turn pale and begin to shake. That isn’t like you, and despite his hurt, he’s now alarmed. “[Name]?”
– “I’m going to throw up,” you say. Furuta grabs you a trash can, and holds you, as he slowly begins to realize what you are realizing.
– “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” he begs.
– “I haven’t said anything,” you spit.
– “You don’t need to.” Furuta holds you, shaking with disgust at himself, horror and devastation for you, and anger at your attacker. You can take your time talking to him, and he will do his best to support you. And profusely apologize for his assumptions.
– He probably will kill this person, unless you ask him for due process.
Tsukiyama Shuu
– He sobs. He sobs and wails, though you remain unemotional, detached.
– “I’m an idiot,” you say, and that’s when he turns fierce.
– “No.” Shuu holds you close, sniffling now. “You are not. You are strong, and that person was wrong. Not you.”
– “I wish I had been there. Can you forgive me for not walking you home?”
– “It’s not your fault,” you stay stiffly.
– “Or yours!” he cries. “I’ll say that whenever you need to hear it. We – we are going to get through this, together.”
– He squeezes your hand. “If you want to, that is?” You nod, and he lets you finally sob onto his expensive jacket.
Karren Von Rosewald
– She suspected something was wrong when you avoided spending time at home the last week. You’re a homebody, unlike Karren.
– Eventually, especially after seeing how withdrawn you are, she pulls you aside to ask you if she has done anything wrong. And keeps asking questions, until you hint at what happened.
– Karren gasps. She’s furious – part of her wants to hunt them down and tear them limb from limb. But not eat them. they don’t deserve to be food.
– She wraps her arms around you, assures you she is supportive of whatever you need, and is determined to help in whatever ways she can.
Arima Kishou
– He’s silent at first, which only increases your worry. But he’s just trying to control his own emotions.
– He then asks, delicately, if you have seen a doctor. If you need to, he will arrange for one, as discreetly as you wish.
– Your shoulders are hunched, and you huddle in your chair, leaning away from him. Your self-hatred is palpable.
– Arima kneels before you. He then assures you he believes you, he loves you, and he is only quiet because he’s sick at the thought. And because he instinctively planned killing them.
– You ask him not to kill, but to perhaps open an investigation based on your anonymous report. He readily agrees, using both CCG and Aogiri resources.
– He won’t ever leave you alone again.
