“Daddy, teach me video games.” Mizuki tugs on Mizurou’s arm.
“Which ones?” Mizurou smiles, calm outside although he’s inwardly dying of excitement. Finally, finally, his daughter will understand the joy of gaming.
“The one with the princess.” Mizuki pouts.
“The Legend of Zelda?” Mizurou trembles. “Yes.”
Now, which game to pick…he muses. Not Majora’s Mask. It’s too creepy for her.
Michiko clears her throat from behind her husband and daughter. She waves about Breath of the Wild. “What about this one?”
“Michiko?” Mizurou’s mouth falls open.
“You’re teaching me too, Tamaki.” Michiko nods. “I’m ready.”
“Okay. It’s hard, though, and takes lots of practice,” Mizurou says, more for his daughter’s sake than his wife’s.
“I’m ready,” Mizuki says seriously.
“As am I.” Michiko sits onto the couch with more ceremony than Furuta’s inauguration. “Let’s begin this adventure.”
Half an hour later, Michiko is shrieking on the floor, Mizuki is laughing into Mizurou, and he’s filming his wife screaming at the console.
It’s wonderful.
Oh. Oh dear.
Squad Zero
Arima Kishou – I’ve seen kagunes less complicated. NO ONE CAN KNOW THAT THE WEAKNESS OF ARIMA KISHOU IS A BRA.
Hairu Ihei: I hate this contraption. Sports bras all the way.
Ui Koori: his entire vision goes red with embarrassment and he forgets there’s a bra in the first place.
Take Hirako: Insists his partner not move until he can figure out how to unbutton it. When they suggest they can just pull it off, he’s offended. He wants to learn, dammit.
Squad Three
Suzuya Juuzou: He knows exactly how it works and how to remove it.
Keijin Nakarai: smoothly tugs the bra over his partner’s head instead of unfastening it.
Mizurou Tamaki: Mizurou vs. bra is a gigglefest that no one in S3 Squad avoided hearing.
Miyuki Mikage: what sort of satanic aliens designed this?
Hanbee Abara: he melts as soon as he sees a bra.
Based on @koyuki-tan‘s “Peace Sign.”
– Suzuya: brings Jason along to “comfort” Mizuki, who is worried about the monsters getting him.
– Hanbee: his strategy is to fit himself under the bed and convince her that if he can fit, nothing else can. Hence, no monster.
– Miyuki: you really should think about aliens under your bed instead. But friendly ones!
– Keijin: dresses up as a monster to have Mizurou and Michiko chase it out.
From @koyuki-tan‘s “Peace Sign.”
– Uncle Juuzou probably walked in on Mizuki trying and failing to stitch herself.
– He then brushes aside her parents’ possible reactions and teaches her how to do it right.
– When Mizuki rushes up to show Daddy, Mizurou laughs. As long as Mizuki isn’t hurting, and she wants this, he’s cool with it.
– Michiko is less cool with it. Scars! Infection! Pain! Mizuki, why?
– Juuzou is going to get getting the Michiko Glare ™ for the rest of the evening.
– Mizurou and Michiko eventually work out a plan with Juuzou that Mizuki can have the stitches, just not a lot right now. Mizuki is thrilled.
TW for eating disorders.
I highly recommend getting help and talking to people about it if you have one, as we will see in this scenario. Also, you’re not alone. I promise. ❤
Suzuya can’t believe he’s doing this again, so he ignores that he is.
But sometimes, he likes to starve himself. Especially when he’s reminded of Mr. Shinohara, or he sees Marude and the others who’ve mocked him, because maybe if he’s thin enough he’ll disappear from their snotty gaze.
Sometimes he doesn’t feel good enough. So he eats all the sweets everyone brings him, and then he pukes it up. There’s a satisfaction with the dizziness he experiences afterwards.
He staggers out of the bathroom stall to see Keijin Nakarai against the wall, arms crossed.
“Hey,” he rasps.
“Sick again?” Mizurou Tamaki sits by the sinks, and Hanbee leans against the door. Miyuki Mikage stands in the middle.
“Yes,” Suzuya says softly.
“Look, Suzuya, you’re my squad leader. And I love you. But I’m worried,” says Keijin.
“You always do this when you’re stressed out. The gorging yourself and vomiting,” Mikage says. “I’ve been keeping track.”
Suzuya pales. “No.”
“My sister has bulimia,” says Mizurou, swinging his feet. “It’s always worse when she’s stressed, too.”
“I don’t have that,” Suzuya says angrily. “That’s for girls.”
“You can be any gender and have an eating disorder,” Hanbee says with a sad laugh. “I used to be anorexic. I thought I could make myself shorter that way.”
“Wait, really?” Keijin chokes back a laugh.
“Suzuya, we love you.” Mikage steps forward. “Let us help you.”
Suzuya’s eyes fill. “I don’t even know where to begin.”
“We’ll help you with that, too. First step is us supporting you.” Keijin wraps an arm around his squad leader. “And walking out that door.”
Oh, she does.
from @koyuki-tan‘s “Peace Sign.”
– Mizuki is Rey.
– Suzuya is his favorite Princess Leia, Hanbee is Chewbacca, Nakarai is Darth Vader, Mikage is Kylo Ren, and Mizurou is Han Solo.
– Michiko dresses as Padmé.
– Hanbee styles Suzuya’s hair into twin buns, and Mizuki’s hair into Rey’s three buns.
– The tea party includes lightsaber duels with Nakarai and Mikage, obviously.
– Mizuki slips an ice cube into Mizurou’s tea as a homage to being frozen.
– All her stuffed porgs and Ewoks are also present.
I could get behind this ship. 😀
-Mizurou once bought Keijin a parrot. He was generously allowed to name it Beefy.
– when Keijin gets drunk or even just overtired “sleep drunk,” he gets very whiny and clingy. He will whimper in Mizurou’s ear until Mizurou put shim to bed, like a responsible adult.
– Suzuya and Mizurou set up the double date, but Hanbee figured out the plan. Keijin was totally oblivious until they went on it, but fortunately he was enthusiastic.
– It involves an aquarium, the “zoo of the sea.”
– There they discover Hanbee is afraid of sharks, Suzuya is fascinated by octopi, and Keijin can name all the different species of jellyfish known to man. Mizurou finds this very attractive.
– Unfortunately, Suzuya now wants an electric eel.
– But it’s Mizurou they have to stop from jumping in to see the penguins. He then compares the yellow fuzz of the rock-hoppers to Keijin’s hair. Keijin is not impressed.
– They then realize Suzuya has never seen Finding Nemo and immediately take him home to watch it. They invite Mikage, who claims he has an invisible alien girlfriend with him, and settle down to watch.
– They are all crying messes.
Apologies for angst. Okay, not really. 😉
Mizurou’s heart feels electrocuted. He can only stare at the girl who removed her phoenix mask.
You.
Suzuya eyes her with suspicion. Mizurou clearly knows her. So how…
His heart thuds as Mizurou’s face flushes. This is the infamous ex-girlfriend Mizurou still cries for at night.
She’s pretty, and innocent-looking for a ghoul.
“You,” Mizurou whispers, stepping forward.
“Now you know why I broke up with you!” she blurts out, hurting him before she can be hurt. Isn’t that always her way? Isn’t that why she broke up with him?
Mizurou’s words stick in his throat. He wants to assure her that she could have told him, that he wouldn’t have cared, but look at him. He just participated in the slaughter of children because they were ghouls.
His words are meaningless.
“Fuck you, Mizurou,” she whispers, tears in her eyes.
“Fuck you, [name],” he retorts, hating himself for his lame response and certainly not for his sins.
She files off somewhere else, and Mizurou’s left with his squad. Alone. Forever without her.
But when they both assigned to demolish the kagune monsters, and he finds himself dancing a dance of death around her, memories overwhelm him. And he can tell from her eyes that she remembers, too.
“Can we talk?” he blurts out. “When this is over?”
“I think talking when this is over is the best idea,” she replies quietly, with a small smile.
A monster lunges at Mizurou, and she runs it through with her rinkaku.
Based on @koyuki-tan‘s “Peace Sign.”
– This is not the first time they have brought home a stray pet. The first time, however, it was a rat Mizuki found cute and Juuzou took pity on.
– Mizurou was okay with the rat, but Michiko nearly cried.
– She now hopes the kitten eats the rat, but her hopes are dashed, because the rat cuddles with the kitten immediately.
– And then she realizes it is so cute, she’s okay with the rat.
– Juuzou lets Mizuki name the cat “Hanbee,” to the delight of his entire squad.
– Mizurou makes a remark comparing rats and cats bonding to humans and ghouls, and Michiko kisses him for it.
– Mizuki is now two animals into her plan for a zoo. Juuzou promises more soon.
