Kyou is, obviously, by Tsukiyama’s side. She’s great at planning missions to unite ghouls and humans.
Her sister Chiharu is having quite the time talking with Ryuusen Tatsumichi. 😉
Niji and Yusa eloped when he turned 20. Why wait?
Fumi the Clown and Higemaru are engaged, at last.
Furuta Tsubaki probably drives Matsuri nuts with her reminders that he ain’t the only Washuu left.
Naru Okatsuki is trying to rekindle her romance with Urie.
Hoshi helps Yomo raise his niece!
Niji – she doesn’t want to flirt. She just wants to be authentic.
Kyou – she’ll put in effort, but it comes out wrong. After all, her turning point in her relationship with Shuu was telling him she despises his best friend.
Naru Okatsuki – her method is pissing Urie off.
Chiharu – surprisingly efficient.
Fumi the Clown – Her cute antics are enough to suck in any do-gooder.
Furuta Tsubaki – she’s inherited her big brother’s charm.
Kyou is, as you may expect, alongside Tsukiyama and Nishiki, fighting Hairu the cross-headed wonder. She’s insisted Chiharu stay behind with Hinami and the others, but since she’s pretty skilled with her kagune, she’s ready to help fight.
She also might be very, very suspicious of this owl, and immediately suspects it is not Eto.
However, since she actually knows Nico and used to idolize her for being who she was, she’s hoping for a chance to express her disappointment in the Clown’s seeming alliance with V.
– “Mon amour!” Tsukiyama sweeps into Kyou’s room with a bouquet of red roses the size of Chiharu. She’s not even awake yet.
– After stumbling out of bed feeling haggard, Shuu assures her she’s beautiful. Kyou kisses him and allows him to help apply her makeup – something he LOVES to do.
– He whisks her away to the least risky garden in Tokyo, where Chie lies in wait with a camera.
– He drops to his knees and proposes, to Kyou’s shock and delight.
– Chiharu and Chie can’t help but cheer, thus making their presence known.
– Chiharu becomes very emotional when Kyou and Shuu present her with her own flowers (lilies are her favorite). She’s never had flowers before!
– Chie documents it all, and then Kyou gives her a box of chocolates from her and Shuu.
– They return to Goat covered in petals…and Tsukiyama makes himself slightly sick trying to eat them.
– So Kyou stays up all night, not making love, but holding Shuu’s hair back as he vomits. She doesn’t mind, though she is totally going to tease him for this when he recovers.
I miss her too. 🙂
Chiharu excelled in high school, and was torn between college and joining the Great Wheel Act.
Kyou had dropped out of college due to depression, though she remained very bright and studious in her own time. She tutored kids – human and ghoul – and was hoping she and Chiharu could start a secret school for ghouls.
She started a secret blog on being a transgender ghoul. Most people wrote the blog off as satire, but not all. She hoped that she might change at least one person’s mind on ghouls and/or gender. She probably did.
Chiharu’s contacts in the Great Wheel Act first alerted her to :Re, and then Goat. With things for ghouls beginning to spiral, she and Kyou planned to escape to :Re, but then :Re was found out.
The Great Wheel act alerted Chiharu to Goat’s location in the 24th ward, but Kyou originally hesitated. However, CCG found her location through her blog, and two adult investigators showed up on their door “just to check” (since CCG, again, was unsure if the blog was real or not).
Kyou and Chiharu narrowly escaped their apartment by jumping out their windows, and fled to the 24th Ward, where Chiharu developed a crush on Kaneki and Kyou began to loathe him for his perceived inaction.
That is where she met Shuu. 😉
“I – I can’t believe – Kaneki is that – that thing!” Tsukiyama throws himself to the ground. He pounds the dirt and stones and waters the plants with his tears.
Chie snaps a picture.
Kyou is disappointed, devastated even – she would have rather been wrong. She would have rather Kaneki Ken triumphed instead of digging further into tragedy. And pulling Tsukiyama with him.
“Hey, you.” She shakes Tsukiyama’s shoulder lightly.
He sobs harder.
“Look at me, Shuu. Please,” she says. Her voice is gentler than normal.
Tsukiyama gasps slightly. She called him Shuu. And it sounds lovely on her tongue.
“You were right,” he mumbles, lifting his eyes to hers.
“I wish I wasn’t,” she tells him, using her fingers to scrape away his tears. “But right now, Shuu, what we need are strong leaders. We have Touka, but she needs your support. We can’t be strong on our own, remember? Come on. We can cry and scream after we survive this, mmkay?”
Tsukiyama nods. “Help me, Kyou.”
“Always.” Kyou hoists him up.
Click, snaps Chie’s camera.
“Tres bien!” hollers Tsukiyama.
Kyou blows you a kiss as her overexcited boyfriend spins her around and kisses her neck.
Then they both invite you to their wedding. Which Tsukiyama almost wanted Donato to officiate because ‘he’s a real priest” but Kyou put her foot down.
They had Amon do it. Dressed in full kakuja. Kyou wore a rainbow dress and Tsukiyama a glittery suit. Kyou consented to Kaneki as the best man and Chiharu, Touka, and Niji were the bridesmaids.

“Niji, this is my girlfriend, Kyou.” Tsukiyama gestures to the willowy, glamorous woman by his side.
Niji’s eyes are wide. “H – hi.”
“Hi, Niji.” Kyou smiles.
She’s so pretty. Niji is not. She hangs her head.
“I hear you’re like me. A girl with guy parts,” Kyou says softly.
Niji starts. Kyou? Well, now that she looks, Kyou doesn’t have much of a chest…or hips. But she’s so pretty.
“It’s okay to be who you are. I’m happier having transitioned. If you’re happier not transitioning, it doesn’t make you any less of a woman,” Kyou assures her.
“Doesn’t it?” Niji bites her lip. “Kyou, what if I start transitioning and I look like a freak? What if my parents look down from heaven and hate me?”
“If they’re in heaven – and all ghouls are – I think they’ll know better than to hate. I think they’ll be cheering you on.” Kyou produces an expensive magenta lipstick. “Want it?”
Niji nods eagerly.
“It’s okay to take your time deciding, too,” Tsukiyama adds quickly.
“Yes.” Kyou grins. “And we’re here anytime you need to talk.”
Niji’s eyes fill with tears. “Thank you.”
She flings herself into Kyou’s arms, then Tsukiyama’s. She almost feels like she has a family again.
I’m so glad! She’s quickly becoming a favorite OC of mine.
“But, maybe – maybe if we tried to meet CCG or at least raid the execution,” Tsukiyama begins. His new girlfriend hangs onto his arm. “It’s Touka’s best friend.”
“And risk our people?” Kaneki looks ill at the thought.
“You do realize,” Kyou cuts in, not giving a shit that she’s not an advisor, “that playing pacifist while people kill you is violence itself, right?”
Kaneki’s voice wobbles. “I am the One-Eyed King. This is what I’ve chosen.”
Kyou smirks. “Well, I didn’t vote for you!”
She spins free of Tsukiyama and sashays off.
“She’s gonna plan something, isn’t she?” Kaneki whispers.
“I’ll try to talk to her,” Tsukiyama says, hurrying after her. Maybe Kaneki can sit with Kyou’s wisdom for a bit.
Because, of course Kyou is planning something.
He might join her, too.
