(Hi!! I can’t believe TG ended, but this means I can really start planning my Rin story for it!) Can I request a snippet of the Kaneki trifecta at the same point as in the manga, just talking about all that has happened? Kaneki’s daughter(whatever you want to name her) perhaps playing with little Haise and Saiko, who are about 4 at this point. Maybe include some things would would have liked to see at the end.

Yessss I wanna read this story. And you’re totally going to keep Rio alive, right? Right? 😛

Kaneki smiles as his daughter yells “Tag! You’re it!” while bonking little Haise on the head.

Little Saiko shrieks and flees from her brother and her cousin.

“How are the peace efforts, Juuzou?” Rin clears her throat. She reaches one hand over to hold Rio’s.

“They’re going. There’s less orphans being produced than there were even a year ago,” he says.

“Good,” Touka says. “Hinami was saying she hadn’t seen you in a bit.”

“We’ll be escorting some orphans there tonight,” Juuzou admits. It’s nice to cooperate with Hinami, with his brother Kaneki’s sister-in-law, to become her friend after all they’ve done.

She’s nice. He’s glad ghouls can be his friend. And family.

Kaneki kisses Touka’s forehead. “I’l get us some more coffee.”

“Yours isn’t as good as hers,” Rin teases.

“Silence, human.” Kaneki smirks. He hasn’t joked about his humanity before. It feels good.

“It’s not,” Rio offers, supporting his wife.

The entire table hurts into laughter, as a few meters away, the twins finally capture their cousin in a hug.

((Last part!)) Rin gives birth to healthy half Ghoul twins, one boy and one girl (green hair, grey eyes and absolutely adorable). The proud new parents introduce their newborns to their loved ones, and Eto at Rin’s request. They then ask to name their son Haise, after Kaneki’s personality, and their daughter Saiko, after their very close friend.

“After me?” Saiko claps her hands to her cheeks. “I am so honored.”

“I’m glad!” Rin beams at her friend. She holds baby Saiko in her arm, and Rio holds baby Haise with one arm and his wife with his other.

“I may be biased, but I think half-ghouls with green hair are especially pretty,” says Eto with a smirk.

“Does that count for Quinxes, too?” Urie elbows Mutsuki.

“Of course.” Eto tosses her minty hair.

Touka rolls her eyes. “You would!”

“You’re okay with Haise? I know not all those memories are pleasant,” Rin says to her brother.

“I’m honored,” Kaneki says with a soft smile.

Suzuya dances over to hug his sister, his niece and nephew. “They’re so tiny.”

“They’re babies,” Rin says with a laugh. “We were all this size once, too.”

Rio smiles as his eyes prick. Because he can imagines brother holding him when he was born. Not knowing what would happen. Disaster. Madness. And Rin – wonderful, wonderful Rin.

“I’m always protect you,” Rio murmurs, brushing his son’s wisps of green hair.

“And I’ll always protect you,” Rin adds, leaning over to kiss Rio on his forehead.

((Part 2!)) With the help of her family, Rin tells Rio about her pregnancy, and though excited, both expecting parents are nervous about whether the child will be half Ghoul or half human and the fact that Rin will have to eat human flesh to sustain their growing baby. (Babies, cause she finds out she is having twins ;))

“T-twins? Two times? Two times baby?” Rio blinks at the nurse, who nods back.

“O- okay,” stammers Rin. “But…can you tell if they’re half Ghoul?”

Please. She can’t bear for her children to have a short lifespan.

“Not yet,” says the nurse. “I understand this is hard for you, but the best thing you can do right now…you’re already doing.”

Rin flushes. Yes, she is eating the corpse flesh provided to her.

Rio gulps. His eyes flood with tears. It’s not – it’s not fair that Rin has to endure this. He wishes he weren’t a ghoul.

“Stop that,” Rin commands, reading the thoughts written all over his countenance. “I love you. I want my halfbreed children.”

Rio laughs with Rin as he reaches for her hand. He leans closer to kiss her stomach twice. Two times for two babies.

“I love you too,” he mumbles to Rin, who sits up to kiss him as the nurse mercifully glances away.

This won’t be easy, but Rin hopes that Rio knows he’s worth it. Their family is worth it.

((Love Simon is an amazing movie. You would definitely love it. Just be ready for some serious feels)) Rin discovers that she is pregnant with Rio’s child (they will be a pair in my story) and has a talk with her brothers and Touka about it before she tells Rio.

I am a sucker for Rio pairings. He needs more love.

“Rin, are you okay? You haven’t seemed like yourself.” Touka eyes the younger woman carefully.

Rin drops her eyes. She points to the trash can. A white stick pokes out.

Touka’s mouth drops. “Congratulations!”

“R – really?” stammers Rin.

“Yeah, do you think Ken and I planned to have a kid at the worst time possible?” Touka shrugs. “I can help you bring it up to him if you want.”

“Thank you,” Rin says shyly.

“Does Rio know?” Touka asks.

Rin shakes her head. “I’m afraid…a baby is too much for him. But I want it.”

“Well, you can discuss it. And I think…we will all support you two.” Touka smiles and extends her hand. Rin takes it with gratitude.

When they enter the coffee shop, Suzuya frowns immediately at Jin’s face. “Something’s wrong.”

“Not exactly,” Rin says.

“What happened?” Kaneki races over.

“Please don’t get mad.” Rin bites her lip. Her heart hammers. “I’m…pregnant.”

The room is silent.

“No way! A baby! I can be an uncle!” Suzuya leaps up and down.

“Uh, how?” Kaneki squeaks.

“Ken!” Touka glares at him.

“Please don’t be mad at me,” Rin begs. “Or Rio.”

“Rio! I love him.” Suzuya hugs Rin.

“I’m not mad. Just feeling my age,” Kaneki says. He reaches over and wraps his arms around Rin. “You’re going to be a wonderful mother.”

((Just saw Love, Simon, and had to o this ask)) Can you do a little thing where Rin comes out to her brothers (Kaneki, Juuzou and Hide (he’s her honorary brother)) that she likes girls?

Is it as good as it looks???

“Kaneki?” Rin bites her lip. She’s uncharacteristically quiet today, and she seems a bit shaky.

“What is it?” he asks with concern.

Hide gives Rin a knowing smile, and it frightens her, because Hide surely doesn’t know.

“I, uh…I am gay.” She blurts it out. Just rip it off like a Band-Aid.

“I know,” Hide says then, to her surprise.

“I think that’s great. I’m bi.” Juuzou slides closer to offer her a lollipop.

“Really?” She goggles at Juuzou.

“Yep.” He shrugs. “It’s great to have another queer person in this family.”

They turn to Kaneki. Hide pokes him.

“Rin, were you scared to tell me?” he asks with concern.

Rin nods, a lump in her throat.

“I love you. I look forward to meeting your girlfriends,” Kaneki says, wiping his eyes. “I’m so proud of you, and you too, Juuzou. I support you no matter who you love.”

Rin throws her arms around Kaneki, and Juuzou quickly follows suit.

“Come here, Hide,” Rin calls, and he joins the group hug.

When they learn of their Romanian heritage, the Kaneki trifecta decide to get in tough with their roots, starting with learning the Romanian language, cause having a secret language is awesome. (One phrase they could exchange is “Fratele Meu (means “my brother”- for Rin to her brothers) and “Sora Mea” (meaning “my sister”))

Do you know Romanian? That’s awesome.

Fratele Meu, can you pass the sugar.” Rin waves at Kaneki.

“What does that mean again?” Suzuya frowns.

“Of course, Sora Mea.” Kaneki winks and hands her three sugar packets. “What do you think it means, Juuzou?”

Suzuya sighs. “Brother and sister?”

“Yup.” Rin empties the sugar packets in her coffee.

Multumesc,” says Suzuya. “See, I am learning!”

“You are indeed.” Rin nods.

“What are we learning?” Tsukiyama Shuu pirouettes into the room.

“That you’re a gurmand,” says Suzuya, stuffing his mouth full of chocolate.

“Sacre bleu! That sounds like an insult,” cries Tsukiyama.

Ţine-ţi limba după dinţi,” replies Rin sweetly.

“My heart!” Tsukiyama clutches his chest.

“He’s politely declined your command,” Kaneki says to Rin.

“When the fuck did I move to Europe?” Touka storms into Re. “You guys, yelling in all sorts of languages is going to scare off all my customers!”

The Kaneki trifecta have their last conversation with Alucard, their ancestor, before he has to go back to London to the plot of Hellsing. He tells them the true story of Prince Vlad of Wallachia (sold to a Sultan as a child who raped him for years before he killed him, rose as a prince who fought and killed for his God only to be killed by his people, and sell his soul to the devil). He tells them what Van Hellsing taught him: “Only a man can kill a monster”.

“Please tell us more.” Rin leans forward eagerly. Kaneki is dutifully taking notes through his tears, and Suzuya is clutching Kaneki’s shoulders.

Alucard sighs. “There’s not much more. I suppose my words apply to all of you now.”

“Which ones?” Kaneki looks at his notes.

“I’m sorry that happened to you,” Suzuya says.

“And I’m sorry for what Madam did to you,” Alucard replies. “But, Kaneki especially: to become a monster as I am, is to admit you were too weak to remain human.”

Kaneki flinches. “I had to.”

“So did I, I thought.” Alucard stares into the distance. “Only a man can kill a monster.”

Kaneki looks at Suzuya.

“You can’t kill a monster using monstrous methods.” Now Alucard looks at Suzuya, who swallows.

Mr. Shinohara? Monstrous methods?

“Rin, you’re the full human among your family.”

“Me?” she squeaks. She’s always felt insecure in her humanity. “Are you saying my humanity is…important?”

“I don’t think your humanity means anything,” Alucard says bluntly. “But I think your compassion and empathy surpass your brothers’. That’s more important than your species. And if you want a path forward for both species, you’ll have learn a new way of fighting, beyond embracing the violence.”

Rin sniffles. “Do you think any of us can?”

“Together?” Alucard looks in each of their eyes. “Yeah, I do.”

(A semi-crossover with Hellsing) The Kaneki siblings (Kaneki, Suzuya and Rin together!!) find documents from their father and discover their ancestral roots extend outside of Japan, all the way to Romania and their many greats grandfather is none other than the Impaler, the prince of darkness, and Count himself, Vlad Tepes, aka Dracula (Alucard in Hellsing)

The Kaneki Trifecta®

“Kaneki, look at this. Suzuya, get your ass over here, too.” Rin waves them to a table in Re.

“What are those?” Suzuya’s eyes widen at so much reading.

But Kaneki is already devouring the papers. “Where’d you find these?”

“I’ve been concocting my own little investigation into Mom.” Rin sighs. “Didn’t it ever strike you as strange that one of you was kidnapped, and the other made into a half-ghoul? Like, that can’t be a coincidence.”

“And?” Suzuya nervously nibbles on the chocolate squares Kaneki hands him, one after another.

“We’re not entirely Japanese. We’re…Romanian?” Kaneki frowns.

“Like vampires?” Suzuya grins.

“No, but actually.” Rin rifles through the documents. “Vlad Tepes is our ancestor.”

“Who?”

“Dracula,” Kaneki says, surprised. He loves that book.

“Do you think there’s something special in our blood, then?” Rin asks.

“Maybe?”

“Mom’s side checks out clean.” Rin swallows. “This seems like the best red flag I’ve found.”

“But why target us now?” Suzuya asks. Chocolate is smeared across his cheeks.

“I mean, there’s no proof they didn’t target Dad as well. Maybe that’s how he died. There’s not much information on the accident, though, so this is just speculation.” Rin shrugs.

“We need to talk to Nishiki about this. If – if Vampires are real – if part-vampires can live like normal humans, why can’t part-ghouls?” Kaneki’s body surges with hope.

“Precisely.” Rin smiles at him.

Suzuya hugs them both. “Well, I love having ghouls and vampires in my family.”

Kaneki and Touka are super worried about being parents, with Kaneki fearing that he will be like his mother and Touka fearing she will be like Arata. But when Rin and Ayato come down with the flu, they realize they had absolutely nothing to worry about, and they reminisce together on their days of taking care of their precious baby sibling.

Kaneki swallows. The baby kicks around in Touka’s stomach, and it’s cute, but he can’t be happy.

Because what if he hits him/her?

Because what if he dies soon and leaves him all alone?

Touka sees the angst on Ken’s face and sighs. They’re in a war. What if she should be arrested, and the baby grows up never knowing her? What if the baby hates her, or even feels angry, like she is angry at Arata?

“Ah-choo!” Ayato staggers into GOAT headquarters with flushes cheeks and ashen skin.

“Ayato?”

“She – she got me sick!” He points accusingly at Rin, who follows him in. She, too, is sweating and shaking.

“I didn’t know ghouls could get the flu.” Ayato’s voice rises. “It’s not fair!”

“It might not be fair, but both of you are going to bed. Right now.” Touka grabs for Ayato.

He evades her. “You can’t get the brat sick!”

“Your nephew or niece is not a brat!” Rin yells.

“I’ve got this.” Kaneki takes Rin’s arm and motions for Ayato to follow. “I’ll get Yomo involved if you put up a fight.”

Ayato hangs his head and follows the King.

“Here.” Touka pours a glass of soda for Rin and blood for Ayato. “Take these in for them, Kaneki.”

“Will do.”

When he returns, Kaneki washes his hands immediately. He sighs.

“You know,” says Touka, “I think we’re doing all right.”

“Hmm?”

She laughs. “I’m remembering the days Ayato and I would get sick after Dad fed us human food. I’d be holding back his hair and comforting him. Even then, I knew hurting us wasn’t okay.”

She glances at her husband. “You know? We’ll be okay parents.”

Kaneki swallows. “I abandoned Rin.”

“Yeah, but you’re taking care of her now.”

He smiles tentatively. “True.”

He recalls taking the blame for her mistakes, so Mom would hit him instead of her. Maybe that’s why he turned out worse than Rin. But maybe that’s also why he’ll be a successful parent.

“We’re learning, I guess.” Kaneki strokes Touka’s belly. “Baby GOAT’s gonna be okay.”

“They sure are.” Touka winks.

Hello again! Can you do Rin meeting Haise (post auction arc) and giving him the answers to his forgotten past, including their relationship? (I’m going to be taking liberties with Re) More brother/sister fluff. I miss that banana-loving, pun master of a dork….. (A little more in Rin, she’s matured over the last few years, but remains, optimistic, cheerful, a bit of the loud and comical side with a short temper when you push the right buttons. Despite being younger, she’s protective of Ken)

I’m borrowing your phenomenal description of Sasaki for this.

“Yo, Sasaki.” A pretty young woman who looks nearly like his mirror image waves at him. “Have time for some coffee, you banana-loving pun master of a dork?”

“Who are you?” Haise Sasaki blinks.

“My name is Rin.” She motions him inside the cafe. “I’m your friend, though you don’t know me.”

Sasaki chuckles. “You can’t be.”

“I can.” Her eyes are sad, and Sasaki feels a mist of near-recollections, as if he recalls hugging her at age ten when their mother died.

Huh? He blinks. Where did that thought come from?

The girl smiles. “Let’s do a thought experiment. You try to remember your past. Just try.”

“I don’t need to.” Sasaki sits down to ensure she isn’t a ghoul about to devour everyone in this cafe.

“Yes, you do.” Her eyes flash. What have they done to brainwash him so? And yet he seems happy…

“Why do you look sad?” Sasaki frowns. Is she mentally ill?

“I would do anything to have protected my brother.” She grips a cup of steaming coffee. “I’m human, but he’s a ghoul. You’re an investigator. Do you know how that happened?”

“I’ve never heard of that.”

“Well, now you have. It’s quite the tale.”

“Do tell.” Sasaki leans forward. CCG may need to know of this.

She describes horror after horror – a binge-eating ghoul preying on her brother, his experimentation by a rogue doctor, his torture and descent into madness, his capture by CCG.

“What is his name? I can see if he’s still in Cochlea.” Haise feels sorry for her and the brother.

“His name is Kaneki Ken.”

Haise freezes.

Kaneki…Ken…Kaneki, Kaneki, Kaneki…his name is Kaneki, my name is Kaneki.

“You’re my brother. And you’re alive. And I love you, and I’m sorry I failed you.” Rin throws her arms around him.

Sasaki begins to shake. “No – no – I can’t -”

“You are, and I need you to be both my brother and the happy person you are here. Kaneki didn’t feel loved, so he was never happy. But I loved him, and he had a human friend named Hide who would move heaven and earth for him, and ghouls who followed and loved his kindness and meekness. We all still love you, and you can be happy.” Rin grips his arm. “Please remember me.”

And for a moment, he does let himself remember.
