Houji/Tatara

There was one time Houji caught Tatara. It was shortly after he’d betrayed his lover, leading to the downfall of Che Shi Lian and the deaths of Yan and Fei. Right before Houji left the city, Tatara – not in an emotional state to think clearly – attacked, and this led to his capture by CCG.

They wanted to take him back for interrogation in Cochlea. The investigators were discussing their plans to make the ghouls they’d killed into quinques, and excited to see what would happen to Tatara once he was executed.

And Houji remembered the night Tatara first showed him his kagune, and that he was a ghoul, and that Houji’d been overcome with emotion partially because he loved that Tatara trusted him and he loved Tatara, but also because he knew this meant his suspicions were correct, and that he’d have to betray Tatara.

So Houji may have freed Tatara. Tatara may have tried to kill him, but didn’t. He’s never been sure why. Maybe he just didn’t want to lose anyone else at the moment.

Arieto

Arima had just been disciplined by Tsuneyoshi for a mistake on a mission that led to another ghoul escaping. He’d never really messed up before, and the consequences was a long lecture on what a damned failure of a half-breed he was, and a black eye. And a stern order not to return until his eye had healed.

Eto visited him that night – they’d arranged weekly trysts by that point. When she saw Arima, she was, as you may imagine, pissed. He had to talk her out of taking Tsuneyoshi’s head. She then decided to remind him that he was the only investigator who had beaten her, an unusual subject for prideful Eto to bring up.

Arima teased her about actually caring for him, and she retorted that by letting her live he might actually feel the same. Maybe. She then seduced him, used her regeneration to heal his eye, and left him the next morning.

Tsuneyoshi had expected Arima to be missing for a day or two. He was vexed to see Arima back that morning, and Arima just had to text Eto a play-by-play, much to her amusement.

Suzuhan

After dragon, Suzuya was afraid to talk to Kaneki. He knew he done fucked up, if you will.

Hanbee finally went to Kaneki himself, apologized, and they had a long talk. At the end, Hanbee led Kaneki to Suzuya’s house with the rest of S3. Kaneki and Suzuya forgave each other, and Hanbee was thrilled.

Suzuya asked Hanbee why he’d done that, and Kaneki said something like “I thought it was obvious he loves you.”

Hanbee promptly shrieked.

Suzuya tiptoed up to him and asked if that was true.

Hanbee admitted it was, and profusely apologized as if loving Suzuya was worse than trying to kill Kaneki. But then Suzuya tackled him in a kiss. Kaneki’s sole vengeance was texting a photo of their kiss to the rest of S3.

Eto once convinced Tatara to say “Bye, Bitch” because she thought it’d be hilarious and it didn’t end well

– For a long time, Tatara only says it to Houji.

– In person, sure, but he also leaves “Bye, Bitch” messages on Houji’s door, in his bed, on his ceiling…

– Tatara spray-paints it along Houji’s way to work.

– Eventually, Houji uses this to determine Aogiri’s location.

– When Eto finds out the real reason their base was discovered, she read Tatara the riot act for two hours straight.

– At the end of her spiel, Tatara says “Bye, Bitch” before slamming the door in her face.

– Their resulting fight was legendary.

Hey <3 The latest chapter chapter got me so hard with the Houji flashback so I wanted to ask if you could write a small Houji/Tatara happy thing to help me cope? Maybe just a human au version of Houji in China but I'll be happy with everything for my rare pair <3

I LOVE THIS SHIP.

“Eh? What time is it?” Houji glances at the clock.

“Don’t worry. I called out of work for you.” Tatara sashays back into their bedroom, two mugs of steaming coffee in his hands.

“You what?”

“You deserve a day off, you know.” Tatara sits at the edge of the bed. “Besides, we were up late last night.”

Houji colors. “True.”

“I made you breakfast, too!” Tatara puts his mug on the carpet and hurries out of the room. He returns with eggs and bacon, cooked to crispy perfection.

Houji is impressed. “You have good taste.”

“I like you, so I don’t know,” Tatara jokes. He, of course, does not partake in the good. He never can, Houji knows.

For a moment, he feels the tragedy of Tatara’s life as acutely as if it were his own. And he wishes it were. He wishes he were a ghoul who could stay with Tatara forever.

But for right now, he can spend a day with him. With the person who makes him breakfast in bed.

Houji holds up his mug in a toast. “To taking a day off.”

Tatara clinks his mug against Houji’s. “It’s about damn time.”

Coming clean about my guilty pleasure ship Kiyoko/Itori… Any headcanons for their being a possibility~? <3 Otherwise, ALL of the Houji/Tatara headcanons, if you can't think of any of Kiyoko/Itori~

Kiyoko/Itori

– it probably began with Itori volunteering to slip Kiyoko information on the clowns.

– Kiyoko was right not to trust her, because of course her information was BS.

– But they’d already become friends. Kiyoko cried upon hearing of Itori’s miscarriage, and Itori loved Kiyoko’s stories of her nephew.

– Eventually, Itori asked why Kiyoko kept meeting with her. “Because you’re fun,” Kiyoko replied. “Funny, because I say the same for you.”

– They kissed, and occasionally Kiyoko sees Itori watching from a distance when she’s in battle. Itori respects her girl’s power too much to interfere, but she’s there just in case.

– Itori visits Kiyoko in the hospital and gets Kiyoko to laugh for the first time after losing her legs. And then Itori cries with her, too.

Houji/Tatara

– Even in their breakup phase, Houji will still get text messages from random throwaway phones. They usually contain trolling references to his relationship with Tatara.

– Tatara has, of course, made all of Aogiri buy cheap phones to troll Houji with.

– Tatara once left his mask at Houji’s. He returned to see Houji wearing it, which he found unbearably sexy.

– Who kisses who first? Houji will say Tatara. Tatara will say Houji.

– Both are wrong. They were giving each other sultry glances and Eto, at that point a young upstart trying to recruit Tatara, banged their heads and lips together.

I’m… not in a great place mentally, so could I get some AriEto and Houji/Tatara fluff to cheer me up?

“You’re joking,” says Arima.

“I’m totally not,” Eto says, straddling him. “Houji and Tatara are meeting in this same resort.”

“I thought Houji hated Tatara,” Arima says in confusion as Eto blinds him. And by blind, she removes his glasses so she can pepper his face with kisses.

“Gosh, you’re so distracting,” Eto murmurs. “Well, they do, but they sometimes realize all that hatred stems from love and arrange weekend trysts. Just like us, eh?”

“I don’t hate you,” Arima says, smiling a genuine smile at Eto. It takes her breath away. “I never have.”

“I know, Kishou.” Eto settles herself atop his chest. “I love you, too.”

Across the hotel, Houji glares at Tatara. “This doesn’t make up for anything.”

“I’m the one who lost family because of you,” Tatara retorts, handing him a perfectly crafted White Russian. The same drink he made the night they met. “Well? Is it as good as you remember?”

“Damn you,” growls Houji. “You can’t even drink it. How can you make something so good?”

“I’m talented.” Tatara smirks and reaches for his bottle of blood wine.

“An entire bottle?”

“I never get drunk.” Tatara grins.

Houji colors. Because he has, often, in front of Tatara. In fact, Tatara used to tuck him into bed and take care of him when he was hungover.

“I’ve always wondered,” says Tatara, “why you drank so much if you knew I was a ghoul. If you were undercover.”

Houji hangs his head. “I did because I was desperate for you to have one, just one, drink with me, so I could call CCG off you.”

Tatara purses his lips to cover his emotions. “I see.”

He tilts his head. “Kiss me.”

“I thought you’d never want that again.” Houji lunges for him.

“I’ll always want you,” Tatara whispers in his lover’s ear.

– Houji is quite protective of you. His greatest fear is that Tatara will discover your existence and target you.

– Houji really, really likes baking with you on his days off. Chocolate-chip cookies are his favorite.

– He wants to adopt a pet with you. You both frequent animal shelters and pet stores, and Houji has a soft spot for the old, frail animals no one else wants.

– He enjoys binging Netflix with you (and some hanky-panky time in between).

– Houji does not talk about his feelings often, but when he does, he looks straight into your eyes and holds your hands.

– He’s probably planning on marrying you in the near future. And it will be 100% planned out perfectly, unless Tatara or Seidou show up to Rek Shit.

Nozomi meeting her grandparents (Houji/Tatara) for the first time~? <3

Nozomi is the devious Arieto child from @hamliet‘s “The (Mis)Adventures of Goat.”

– She takes to Tatara immediately, because Eto’s told her all kinds of mischief tales with Tatara.

– Houji is still processing that Arima is married to Eto, they had sex, and now they have a child who by all appearances would be CCG’s worst nightmare, if CCG still existed.

– “Is it true you’re a stick-in-the-mud?” Nozomi taunts Houji. “Uncle Seidou said so.”

– Houji gets on her good side by supplying the voracious Nozomi with food. He and Tatara often give her airplane rides, or contort themselves into jungle gyms. She likes jumping from uncle to uncle.

– At the end of the day, Houji corners Arima. “Admit it. You like your little clown.”

– “No, I love them both,” Arima says, with a hint of emotion. Which is more than Houji’s ever seen, and that’s enough to satisfy Tatara.

Houji/Tatara getting back together (say post-Rushima AU where they’re alive and are working out their relationship), and Houji reacting to the fact that Tatara’s been able to transition since they were last together? You know who I am XD <3

“I’m glad you became who you wanted to be,” Houji says quietly as they sit together in their hotel room. Tatara is on one bed, he on the other.

They said they’re running away together, but they’re not together, not until they confess everything to each other.

“I wasn’t really.” Tatara presses his hands together. “I mean…you weren’t a part of my life. I always thought I would experience this with you by my side.”

“Guess I ended that possibility, didn’t I.” Houji laughs sadly.

“Yeah.”

“I did notice my files on CCG weren’t changed to biological female, though.” Tatara removes his mask.

“I may be a traitor, but I’m not a bigot, Tatara.” Houji groans. It still kills him to see Tatara’s full face. He’s grown even more beautiful.

“We’re both murderers and traitors, I suppose.” Tatara looks away.

“We’re alive, though.” Houji draws a deep breath.

Tatara arises and crosses the room to press his lips against Houji’s.

“I can’t atone for killing your brother,” Houji whispers.

“I can’t atone for turning Seidou into a ghoul, either.” Tatara laughs harshly. “Though I think he’ll figure it out. But I can move on with you.”

“So can I.” Houji allows Tatara to push him down on the bed. He’s kinda excited to see Tatara’s true form.

Okay but what is human!Seidou’s reaction to working out that Houji used to be a thing with Tatata

– He’s stunned. He ignores it for a while. It takes Akira commenting on it before he finally faces the truth.

– Bursts into Houji’s office, having done a shot with Akira for bravery. WHAT THE FUCK HOUJI.

– YOU FUCKED TATARA.

– Houji is more concerned about the crudeness of Seidou’s language than the rest.

– “Did you like him?” When Houji refuses to answer, Seidou knows it’s an answer itself, and goes into shock.

– Houji calls Akira and Amon to escort Seidou home for the day, and threatens to kill them all if word ever leaks about this.

– So Akira and amon take Seidou to a bar to cope further.

– Suzuya loves piggyback rides from Hanbee.

– At one point, the normally quiescent Hanbee probably punches someone who insults Suzuya. It’s stunning to the entire squad.

– Hanbee lets Suzuya stitch a heart over his chest.

Houji/Tatara

– Tatara signals their relationship is serious by removing his mask. Houji responds by taking him in his arms and kissing him.

– Tatara once had to come pick up Houji from a bar after he got drunk. This was after their falling out. Houji called him, and Tatara just couldn’t kill him in that state, so he took him home and tucked in him.

– A look through Houji’s cell phone confirmed Houji didn’t have his number. Tatara then realized that Houji must still have memorized it. He left with a surprising amount of emotions.

– Their first date was ice skating. Tatara was graceful, Houji a mess, and they kissed as they crumpled to a heap on the rink floor.
