❤ You can indeed. I’m okay with dark, terrible, and sensitive subjects so long as they aren’t glorified. ❤ ❤ ❤ hugs ❤
That being said, dear readers: here’s a trigger warning for sexual assault, and I’ll post it below the cut.
Uta
– You tell Uta what happened, trying to downplay it, almost making light of it. Like it shouldn’t bother you. Even though it does.
– When you finish with a nervous laugh, quipping “guess I shouldn’t get drunk anymore,” Uta snaps out of his shock. He crosses the room and wraps his arms around you.
– You try to swallow the lump in your throat. “Are you mad at me?”
– He’s appalled. He strokes your hair and growls out the words. “No. It wasn’t your fault. Someone … forced you to have sex when you didn’t want to.”
– You begin to cry, because he’s naming it without saying the word you’re somehow afraid to say. And because he’s right, but you – you can’t stop thinking that you did something different, something wrong.
– “Do you want to say here tonight? You can stay as long as you feel safe.” Uta rubs your back. “And I will always be here to listen if and when you want to talk.”
– You nod. He peers into your eyes not with pity, just empathy and a flicker of indignation, and faith. Uta may be a ghoul, but you do feel safe with him, in his house…and for now, that’s what you need.
Yomo Renji
– You notice his kakugans glowing halfway through your story, and ask him if he’s angry.
– “For you,” he insists, clenching his fists. A tear leaks down his cheek. It’s not fair, it’s not right – how dare anyone hurt you?
– He’ll find whatever medical or emotional care you need.
– “Don’t think of me as broken,” you snap, and Yomo’s eyes burn as he reassures you, “Never.”
– You wrap your arms around you, and he probably lifts you up and cradles you in his arms.
Furuta Nimura
– So because Fruit-chan is who he is, he probably heard a rumor that your assailant was really grabby at your party, and that you disappeared with them for a while. Since your behavior changed after that, he – like the insecure asshole he is – assumed you cheated on him.
– You’re insulted when he finally confronts you, a few weeks later. “Nothing happened,” you insist. “I love you, even if you can’t believe it.” To be honest, it’s a black hole in your memory.
– “I … don’t remember.” You start to shake, because memories are flooding back, memories that are incredibly fucked-up and memories you don’t want to remember at all.
– Furuta sees you turn pale and begin to shake. That isn’t like you, and despite his hurt, he’s now alarmed. “[Name]?”
– “I’m going to throw up,” you say. Furuta grabs you a trash can, and holds you, as he slowly begins to realize what you are realizing.
– “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” he begs.
– “I haven’t said anything,” you spit.
– “You don’t need to.” Furuta holds you, shaking with disgust at himself, horror and devastation for you, and anger at your attacker. You can take your time talking to him, and he will do his best to support you. And profusely apologize for his assumptions.
– He probably will kill this person, unless you ask him for due process.
Tsukiyama Shuu
– He sobs. He sobs and wails, though you remain unemotional, detached.
– “I’m an idiot,” you say, and that’s when he turns fierce.
– “No.” Shuu holds you close, sniffling now. “You are not. You are strong, and that person was wrong. Not you.”
– “I wish I had been there. Can you forgive me for not walking you home?”
– “It’s not your fault,” you stay stiffly.
– “Or yours!” he cries. “I’ll say that whenever you need to hear it. We – we are going to get through this, together.”
– He squeezes your hand. “If you want to, that is?” You nod, and he lets you finally sob onto his expensive jacket.
Karren Von Rosewald
– She suspected something was wrong when you avoided spending time at home the last week. You’re a homebody, unlike Karren.
– Eventually, especially after seeing how withdrawn you are, she pulls you aside to ask you if she has done anything wrong. And keeps asking questions, until you hint at what happened.
– Karren gasps. She’s furious – part of her wants to hunt them down and tear them limb from limb. But not eat them. they don’t deserve to be food.
– She wraps her arms around you, assures you she is supportive of whatever you need, and is determined to help in whatever ways she can.
Arima Kishou
– He’s silent at first, which only increases your worry. But he’s just trying to control his own emotions.
– He then asks, delicately, if you have seen a doctor. If you need to, he will arrange for one, as discreetly as you wish.
– Your shoulders are hunched, and you huddle in your chair, leaning away from him. Your self-hatred is palpable.
– Arima kneels before you. He then assures you he believes you, he loves you, and he is only quiet because he’s sick at the thought. And because he instinctively planned killing them.
– You ask him not to kill, but to perhaps open an investigation based on your anonymous report. He readily agrees, using both CCG and Aogiri resources.
– tbh, Yomo is probably hesitant to say he loves you, too, because he likes avoiding emotions. So when he does, he might feel hurt if you can’t reciprocate … though he will appreciate their honesty.
– I see Yomo holding them and being willing to work it out. He will not be scared off, because he loves you, as he just said.
– Probably his S/O helps him in an emergency, or maybe risks their life for his, and he realizes they love him. And he grins to himself.
– When you’re back alone, he will tease you about it. And take you in his arms and kiss you all over.
Uta
– Uta, ever the astute observer of human nature, probably picks up on your inability to identify emotions.
– He finds you fascinating, and this may be why he begins to date you.
– It probably takes a fight (you, angry about his sadistic side) for him to identify his own feelings, which leads to laughter.
– When he finally calms down to explain his feelings – and that he’s laughing because he’s been unable to identify that he in fact loves you – you ask, vulnerably, whether you love him.
– Uta says he thinks you do, or you wouldn’t have been so pissed at him.
Furuta Nimura
– Furuta, after you explain your difficulty to him: “Well we can have kanou hook you up to electrodes and see which part of your brain lights up.” You immediately deliver a playful swat.
– Furuta tells himself he’s relieved. He doesn’t want love. Not anymore.
– You may retort that you MIGHT love him, you just don’t know, to drive him mad.
– As time goes on, Furuta ponders to himself that, whatever you feel, it’s nicer than he’s ever experienced before. He hopes to tell you this before he dies.
Karren Von Rosewald
– “Ah, Liebling, it’s fine.” Karren is silently perturbed, however – not because she’s hurt, but because she worries you deny your feelings like Shuu, and she doesn’t want you to become depressed.
– Eventually, Karren learns to trust you – that you aren’t Shuu, and that you do care for her.
– She will not hesitate to tell you the moment she feels she loves you, and she won’t expect anything in return.
– She’s still going to ask if you want to marry her, though. 😛
I hate that his nihilism won out in the end, for both of their lives. 😦
– Riddled with guilt over her miserable existence, Furuta asks Uta to seize Rize from Yomo for him. He then flees with Rize into the countryside and attempts to nurse her back to health.
– After years of captivity and starvation, she takes time to recover. He views his actions as penance.
– When she finally remembers that he started this by, you know, dropping steel beams on her, she is (rightly) furious. She thinks of this as the worst betrayal, and tells him that just because he didn’t rape her like his father would have, doesn’t mean he’s a good person.
– Furuta knows she’s right, but also tells her that his jealousy was not his primary motivation. V was after her, and he thought death might be better than having V catch her again.
– Rize is appalled at his idea of ‘mercy’ and the choice that wasn’t his to make. She accuses him of making excuses, which…he isn’t exactly, because he’s telling the truth, but she’s not wrong when she tells him she hates him.
– Furuta, ashamed and quite cognizant of the depth of his sins, asks what she wants him to do. She tells him to die, and leaves.
– Furuta stays away, because she clearly hates him, and he can’t say he doesn’t deserve it. But soon enough V catches onto her.
– He sacrifices his pride to ask Kaneki for help, and nearly dies trying to save her, due to his advanced aging.
– FYI, The revelation to CCG about the Washuus, instead of Dragon, is the situation that causes ghouls and humans to unite.
– Furuta thinks he was saved by Kaneki’s kagune during the battle, but he’s wrong. It was Rize’s. He doesn’t learn that for a long time, though.
– In the aftermath, as Furuta works to establish peace with TSC, Rize (who works with Kimi on food development) approaches him and asks if they can talk. They rekindle their friendship first.
– Eventually, Rize and Furuta acknowledge – with a push from Touka – that they might have a path forward.
– Rize, never one to wait, promptly asks Furuta to elope.
– At the end, Rize is pregnant with their first child at the same time Touka is pregnant with her second.
– It’s Yoshitoki’s idea, and it wasn’t hard to gain Arima’s agreement. Furuta was harder, though.
– Eventually, they appeared in his apartment with plans and IXA in case the devil clown decided to try anything.
– When discussing plans – Furuta’s horror movie suggestion was nixed immediately by Yoshitoki – they soon realize that they are all interested in a butterfly garden. But pretending not to be, for fear of appearing ‘unmasculine.’
– Furuta can name every plant in the garden, and Arima nearly cries with feels when a Monarch butterfly lands on his glasses.
– Yoshitoki has a guidebook of every butterfly species, and is particularly adept at discovering the camouflaged ones.
– They take a selfie together (do I even have to say it was Furuta’s idea) and none of them will ever admit it, but they each keep a copy in their wallets.
Washuu-Furuta Souta has never expected heaven, so it’s fitting that Kanou has given him an escape after 179. A travel to another world, a world he’s loved reading about.
The World of Hunter x Hunter.
The Black Whale, to be precise.
This is a summary of what ensued:
Hisoka: *annoyed at being found* Who are you?
Furuta: *cackles behind mask* Souta the Clown!
Hisoka: *curious and horny* Mmmhmmm. Tell me more.
Furuta: I’m you, but with black hair and better style. You could almost say I’m what would happen if a writer decided to mix you and Illumi.
Hisoka: *evil grin* I like mixing with Illumi, too…
Illumi: *appears* who is this?
Furuta: Washuu Kichimura, of the powerful Washuu clan. *pulls off mask, winks*
Hisoka: Wait…
Illumi: Who?
Furuta: You know what you do if you obsessively love a sibling? Kill them, or imprison them because they’re yours. Make them part of your ultimate plan!
Illumi: KILLING FAMILY IS FORBIDDEN –
Chrollo: *enters room* What is this noise – *grabs nen book* Hisoka!
Furuta: Calm down, drama queen. Hisoka’s sly and all, but he only duped one group. I duped, like, four and destroyed my whole society. My name is Furuta Nimura. I’m pretty strong too. Let me fight you.
Chrollo: *in disbelief* How are there two of them…
Kurapika: *enters* I heard there’s a commotion – FUCKING SPIDERS! Emperor Time! *eyes turn scarlet, holds Chain Jail*
Chrollo: *points to door* Why is he here.
Furuta: *activates kakugan* ‘Sup. The name’s Washuu-Furuta Souta.
Kurapika: *taken aback by red iris* W-wait – a-are you a K-kurta?
Furuta: Nah but I know what it’s like to be hunted for being different. Though I’m usually hunted for my kagune, not my eyes. See? *whips out toothy kagune, kisses it, licks it in sensual slow-motion*
Hisoka: *glides over to pole-dance against the kagune* Is this your nen? I love it. I want it. Let’s kill each other.
Furuta: *beams* I want to dominate you.
Illumi: *bloodlust* HE IS MY FIANCE!
Chrollo: X-X I’m going to vomit.
Kurapika: Me too. Wait, did I agree with you?
Furuta: I don’t know, did you? Did you now? Is everything you ever knew a lie? Would you have the power to break free of your societal chains? WHO CAN TELL?!
Chrollo: *dead inside* what…
Illumi: *bitter* do you…
Kurapika: *weak voice* want?
Furuta: *strikes dramatic pose* SUPER PEACE! *gets caught in bungee gum* Hey Hisoka, my kagune has the properties of muscles and liquids…
Four-year-old Souta picks up his rubber duck and squeezes it. Water shoots out into Rize’s mouth.
“You’re mean!” Rize stomps her foot as Souta doubles over, cackling. She grabbs his hair and pulls.
“Ow!” Souta gulps when several of their mommies looked towards them. “Act calm so they don’t bother us.”
Rize nods. She looked wistfully at Souta’s favorite toy. “I want a real ducky…”
An idea occurrs to Souta. But for now, he squeezes more water into her face. “He’s not real enough for you?!”
—————————————————–
Two weeks later
Souta hates waiting for his mother. She’s always gone with his Father, whom he’s not allowed to call dad, and then when she returns she cries and he doesn’t know why.
Especially since she brings him presents. He likes presents and doesn’t know why Mommy doesn’t.
“Souta?” calls her mellifluous voice at last.
“Mom!” He leaps out of bed into her arms.
Mom smiles down at him, though her eyes are red again. She places a box on the floor. “Hey, I got something for you. Bring Rize here.”
Souta squeals with excitement, then races off to find his best friend.
When both children re-enter the tent Mom and Souta share, Mom waves. “This will be our little secret.”
She opens it to reveal two soft, fluffy duckings.
Rize shrieks.
“Shhhh. Secret,” Souta corrects her.
“They can stay here for a little while, okay? Your father doesn’t mind.” Mom nods, and Souta squeezes her, and Rize hugs him, and the ducks make a quacking noise, and he thinks himself the happiest person alive.
I would try to be best friends with Mutsuki. We’d talk about family trauma and mental illness. I’d probably encourage him to pursue a relationship with Urie. And share lots of hugs.
Suzuya Juuzou
We would also be good friends. And candy buddies. I might suggest Hanbee has a crush on him. I would never look at him with disgust. Because he is special and good the way he is.
Karren von Rosewald
Oh I would want to be her BEST friend, though she might be annoyed if I take up time from Shuu. But I’d ship her and Shuu really hard, so maybe she’d be okay getting encouragement. And I’d give her tips on dealing with a depressed friend, as someone with depression.
Yomo Renji
Meep. We are kinda alike in our stoic facade, and I personally consider him one of the wisest characters in TG. I would love to frequent his coffee shop and if he chose to further his relationship with Uta, I’d be thrilled. But I’m also weak enough that if he turned his attentions towards me I would be honored and gladly live my entire life by his side.
Furuta Nimura
Well shit. It honestly depends on if I met him through working with Goat, or if I met him through CCG. In the former, we’d probably never be friends, though I’d try to suggest Kaneki not kill Furuta as Furuta wishes. In the latter, I’d probably maneuver myself to have alone times with him, during which I call him out on everything I know. This may result in my imminent death. But maybe someone showing him empathy and giving him a hug would help change his perspective. Even just a smidge. At least he’d have someone who cared whether he lived or died.
I’d love to be more than friends if he actually tried for redemption. I’m not here for misogyny, though, so we’d have to see how healthy it was.
