Scenario where Kaneki does flee with everyone into hiding during the raid on Anteiku instead of staying to fight. They all end up returning safely after the dangers over to work at the cafe as a family again. One day Mutsuki happens to walk in and interacts with Kaneki (who he takes an immediate shine to) and the others and is ultimately offered a part time job at Anteiku as a waiter. Thoughts of Kaneki and the others makes him accept happily, feeling like he finally belongs.

Cute!

“Here you go, sir. Black coffee.” The cute black-haired waiter hands a mug to Mutsuki.

Mutsuki smiles. “T-thanks.” It’s warm and comforting, something he sorely needs after leaving CCG.

“Your hair is a cute color. Do you dye it?” A pretty teenager with light brown hair waves at him.

“No.” Mutsuki blushes.

“I like it.”

“This is backbreaking work, Kaneki.” A bespectacled man with chestnut hair stops mopping the floor to sag against the wall.

“Stop being a drama queen, Nishiki-shit-head.” The manager stomps in, but pauses as soon as she notices Mutsuki. “Oh. I apologize.”

“It’s okay.” Mutsuki has to laugh. They seem like a big, happy family.

“Touka-chan, this is how you can Nishiki will scare off all our customers,” laughs a graceful black-haired woman.

“Not my ferocity?” A man with a large nose bares his teeth.

Mutsuki’s eyes mist. Family. He wishes he had one. But it’s his own fault he doesn’t.

So he keeps returning to the cafe. Yomo, a large man with a gentle demeanor, and Kaneki, a sweet kid about his age, meet him every day to discuss news and books, respectively. Yomo seems particularly interested when he learns Mutsuki is a graduate of CCG’s academy.

“Why’d you leave?” asks Touka, sitting besides Mutsuki.

“Be – because they did something…” Mutuski mumbles. They helped him blame ghouls instead of himself. They presented his case to younger students even though they knew it was a lie. How could he trust anything he’d been taught? “Something awful. And I didn’t want to be a part of it. And I hate blood.”

“Me too,” admits Kaneki.

“Wuss.” Touka pokes Kaneki’s nose, but she’s smiling.

“What do you think of ghouls?” Koma’s eyes glimmer.

“I really don’t know.” Mutsuki shrugs. “I don’t…hate them. I just don’t know them.”

“I mean, you do, but that’s cool.” Nishiki waves his hand.

“NIshiki!” Touka yells.

Mutsuki’s mouth drops open. “You’re – a – uh -”

“We all are. Well, Ken’s a half-ghoul. The rest of us are full ghouls.” Hinami holds out her hand, and Loser flutters down onto her fingers. She looks sweet and kind.

“I won’t tell,” Mutsuki promises. He’s in no position to judge murder, anyhow. But maybe…they wouldn’t hate him if they knew. “You’re all like family to me.”

“Good.” Touka hands him a mop. “Wanna work here?”

“Does that mean I’m off cleaning duty?” shouts Nishiki.

Mutsuki laughs. Someday he’ll tell them. For right now, he’ll enjoy this strange, strange family.

Hey!Uh-Can you do Irimi and Koma and how the two fell for each other?

I can always do Irimi/Koma.

Irimi Kaya remembers the day she finally spoke to the Devil Ape. They’d been working together for three weeks without saying a word. But one day, Koma Enji pointed outside the shop.

“It’s your kind of dog.”

Indeed, a Doberman strolled down the street. Irimi’s eyes widened. “It’s adorable.”

Koma grinned. He’d gotten her to speak to him!

Of course, he has to initiate the next few conversations. A cup of coffee there, a puppy here, a shoulder to cry on when her childhood friend was killed by Doves.

But come summer, she’s initiating small talk with him.

One day, he makes a bottle of blood wine for her, because she said she missed it.

“Let’s split it,” Irimi tells him.

When Yoshimura opens the shop the next morning, he finds his two most reliable workers lolling behind the counter, drunk and giggling and awfully close to each other.

He sends them home, and to his delight, they head in the same direction.

Koma buys Irimi a doberman puppy to mock her mask but she loves it. Bonus if the dog grows up and Koma is scared of it (sorry for being late, but i’m s h o o k)

I’m shook too. I’m dying of shook. Shooken to levels of hell I didn’t foresee. *falls to knees screaming ‘WHYYYYYYY’*

“Koma, what the hell is that?” Irimi Kaya knows exactly who put the wriggling, living box on her doorstep. “Get out from wherever you’re hiding.”

Koma peeks out of her shrubberies. “I saw it and thought of you.”

“Hmm.” Irimi eyes him and opens the box tentatively.

A doberman leaps out to slurp her face.

Irimi gasps, that soft little breath that Koma adores. “You didn’t.”

“Since you can’t wear your mask anymore, I thought it would be a decent substitute.” Koma smirks.

“Not a giveaway at all,” she agrees.

He leans against her door, watching her snuggle the puppy. “Gotta admit, I’m a little disappointed you’re not offended.”

“I’ll only be offended if you don’t help care for Yoshimura,” Irimi snaps, holding out the puppy.

Koma’s eyes moisten. “Of course.”

After a year, however, when the puppy is full grown, Koma kinda fears it.

He knows its illogical. He’s a ghoul, for heaven’s sake. He can regenerate any lost tissue.

But some nights he awakes with Irimi snuggled against his skin, and Yoshimura is eyeing him from the foot of their bed. Drooling with hunger. A ghoul’s hunger.

“Kaya,” he whispers, poking her awake.

“Heh?” Irimi blinks the dim room into focus. Yoshimura is indeed watching Koma with the suspicion of a CCG investigator.

She suggests this to Koma, who has to laugh.

“Yoshi, sleep,” Irimi calls, snapping her fingers.

The dog settles down at Irimi’s feet. But its eyes remain fixed on the man in mommy’s bed.
