This is 100% canon.

Kyou is, obviously, by Tsukiyama’s side. She’s great at planning missions to unite ghouls and humans.
Her sister Chiharu is having quite the time talking with Ryuusen Tatsumichi. 😉
Niji and Yusa eloped when he turned 20. Why wait?
Fumi the Clown and Higemaru are engaged, at last.
Furuta Tsubaki probably drives Matsuri nuts with her reminders that he ain’t the only Washuu left.
Naru Okatsuki is trying to rekindle her romance with Urie.
Hoshi helps Yomo raise his niece!
The biggest Furuta hoe is Furuta himself but anyways – thank you for your question. I’m curious to hear your thoughts too – please comment below, people! 🙂
Hmmm.
I think…most of all, I want to let the chapter settle, for a long time. My perspectives on stories do tend to change after time/reflection. Still, here are my initial feelings:
I loved…
I loved Ayahina, Nakimiza, and Touken! Pleasure-chan is the best – A+, A+, A+
Banjou found himself a girl yo – A
IYO IS ALIVE AND OFF TO FIND THE WOMAN OF HER DREAMS – A
Marude is fighting for both he and Yoshitoki’s species… A+
We saw Hirako’s Shiba. A+
Tsukiyama’s development – A++++
Nishikimi’s marraige and Kimi’s genius – A+++
Utaren is practically canon – A+
You can’t tell me Seidou and Kurona didn’t vanish together for the same activities…and not join up/fall in love – A+
Nico is alive and looking for love, which warms my soul – A+
Also: Hooguro and Shousei’s stories fascinate me! – A+
Iwao is alive?! WTF but also yay! – B+
Hide’s backstory makes a lot of sense and gives sunshine boy the right amount of shade – A
Mutsuki and Touka are friends! – A+
And my favorite panel of Tokyo Ghoul ever might be Suzuya falling to his knees, weeping for his adopted father. It’s beautiful – >A++++++++++++
Tokage meeting a grim end – I’m worried for the student, but I’m so pleased the grandfather of Kaneki’s, Mucchy, and Suzuya’s suffering was addressed. – B
The orphan children of the previous dragon/OEK being the start of ghouls as a species! I love the idea of a species born as orphans, and tbh one of them bears a cool resemblance to Hajime, who technically helped form dragon. – A+
Someone write tol Aura Shinsanpei and smol Hogi as a ship stat! – A
But…
1. Where is Eto?
2. Why didn’t we see closure for Yoshimura and Arata, even if they are presumably vegetables – but then why was Shinohara healed and not them? So if they’re dead, how and when and why…
3. Rio T-T
4. I wanted to see burials for Hairu, Koma, Irimi, and others.
5. I wanted to see Suzuya and Kaneki talk, as well as Touka and Yoriko.
6. Mutsurie. I just…look, the English version of TGRe makes Urie’s feelings pretty clear when he comments on Mucchy’s coat. If it’s not a mistranslation, why was there no resolution? My heartbreak is up there with Zutara.
Ultimately…
It did feel rushed to me. Well, every chapter after Fruit’s death has felt that a bit.
But rushed is not the final feeling I have. I am more haunted.
This chapter reminded me of the end to Lord of the Rings – bittersweet. A tad disquieting, a lingering emptiness. Akira and Amon leaving, the Quinx remaining family but fragmenting, Hirako leaving, Hsaio suffering from rapid aging and Yusa’s hair already growing pale…
As Kaneki says, has the world really gotten better? I think the story, and its end (especially in light of the tragedy in the original TG) suggest the answer is yes, but better is far from perfect or even happy.
But it’s still better, even if incrementally.
So thank you to Ishida for this marvelous story that’s made all of us care so much.
P.S. if you think about it…this not-quite-satisfying conclusion is probably an ending Furuta would enjoy. And that warms my soul. 😛
I’m so proud of you for jumping on Hooguro’s immense story potential already. This fandom is amazing.
Hoogurowaifu
– She dove in front of a ghoul about to be killed by a vengeful human (who had become a serial killer hunting down innocent ghouls), and Hooguro saved her.
– He was immediately impressed by her quick-thinking and compassion; she, by his bravery. They both caught their breath looking at each other, and their lives were never the same.
– She’s an acquaintance of Tsukiyama, having run in the same opulent business family circles.
– She abandoned her rich, powerful family for Hooguro. They married ghoul-style mostly because she and he both wanted it, but also – her family would have prevented them from a human marriage license.
– She loves animals. She and Hooguro have a small zoo in their apartment, alongside baby Warai.
Mizurouwaifu
– She works for the TSC.
– Her name is Ayase Michiko. I can picture no one else but the OC from @koyuki-tan
– She and Mizurou have a daughter named Mizuki, and all of Suzuya Squad takes care of her.
– She is practical, with impractical quirks – she hates her glasses despite seeing better, daydreams about stars, etc.
– She and Mizurou balance each other quite nicely with their humor.
I hope to give you not only comfort, but super peace.

– As soon as the Quinx know Mutsuki wants to transition, they make sure to hire a proper (read: not CCG) doctor.
– The Quinx are supportive all the way, as is Kaneki.
– Touka remains the only one, however, to punch a transphobic CCG agent in the face. Urie will remain forever bitter that he didn’t beat Touka to the punch…pun intended.
– If the hormones take getting used to, Mutsuki tries to be patient with himself and realizes it’s okay to rely on his family.
– After top surgery, Mucchy is thrilled to no longer need a binder. Saiko and Hsaio organize a binder and bra burning party. (No one asks Higemaru why he brought a lacy red one to burn, and it’s quite possible this was the flustered Aura’s first time even seeing a bra).
– Tsukiyama decides it’s important for Mutsuki to dress like a stylish man.
– Mutsuki’s favorite part about his hysterectomy is no more periods, and frankly, Saiko and Hsaio are a little jealous of that part.
– Does Urie reassure Mutsuki he’s still handsome through it all? Yes, yes he does.
As someone who currently relates to your situation, this is hilarious.
“Over there!” Ui pointed towards the SS-rated Lily, so named for the spider lilies that decorated her ornate mask.
She was surprisingly small, but powerful. A good lesson for the Squad Zero kids. So long as Ui, Hairu, and Hirako could keep them alive.
Hirako swiped around the corner, trapping the Lily’s escape.
She backflipped over a railing and soared down the stairs. Hairu and the kids followed without a second thought.
“Be careful!” Ui yelled.
At the end of the stairs, the Lily bent over and gasped slightly.
She barely had time to dodge Hairu’s swing, before falling into Yusa’s sword quinque.
“Ack,” she gasped, collapsing to the floor.
Hairu eyed her with suspicion. She’s calling bullshit. There’s no way an SS ghoul would go down that easily.
“Don’t take your quinques off her,” she orders.
“Kid, I’ve had period cramps worse than this,” laughs the Lily.
“What’s that?” Shio is confused.
“Does CCG teach you nothing, kid?” She moans as her stomach begins to heal.
“Not now!” Hairu knocks the kids out of the way as the Lily uses her ukaku to soar to a window far above them.
“Gotta thank you. You’ve given my muscles something else to think about besides their lack of pregnancy,” mocks the ghoul before vanishing.
“Huh?” Ui and Hirako finally reach them.
Despite the ghoul’s apparent escape, Hairu looks amused. Rikai looks embarrassed, and Shio and Yusa just look confused.
“She escaped?”
“We have bigger problems,” Hairu said.
“Is this something about puberty?” Shio looks to the adults.
Ui squeaks as Hairu nods.
“What did she say?” Hirako asks, already planning on forcing Arima to answer it later.
Yomo loves it in private, but when Uta used it in front of Ayato, it’s hard to say who was more appalled: Ayato or Yomo.
So Yomo did the only appropriate thing: he dragged Uta away to ‘eat’ him.
Yomouta
– They insist all the clowns and :Re learn sign language in preparation.
– Yomo is determined that their child will have a relatively normal life despite their deafness. He makes sure they know that there is nothing wrong with them.
– Uta never snuck up on their child to scare them, thinking it unfair. However, their child felt different as a result, and once Uta realized that, he is constantly hiding himself to surprise them.
Nakimiza
– Miza reads all the information she has on deafness and what life is like for the deaf.
– Naki cries, because he doesn’t want anyone to make fun of them.
– They both resolve to treat their child as normally as possible, and Naki occasionally suggests that Nishiki and Kimi figure out how to use Rc cells to help deaf people hear if they want to.
Ayahina
– Ayato is preemptively ready to beat any bullies up
– Hinami is very patient and huggable if their child feels frustrated
– Both parents help hone their child’s other skills – sight, smell, touch, taste (okay Uncle Shuu takes that one), and assure them that they are not inferior.
I do indeed! ❤ welcome to the blog my dear!
“Don’t hold back.” Akira wraps Amon’s strong arms around her.
“Akira, I -” Amon’s heart pounds. He wants this. He wants this, for the first time in his life, but – but he’s a ghoul now. “Don’t you find me disgusting?”
Akira gives him a sharp look. “Hell no. You’re still Amon Koutarou. I love…you. Whatever you are, you’re still you. I love you, no matter what you’ve been through.” She digs her fingernails into his arms. “I’m so glad you’re alive.”
Amon nods, gingerly. He lowers Akira onto the bed of their hotel room, taking care to kiss the nape of her neck, her breasts under her shirt.
Akira skillfully removes his shirt, but when it comes to Amon removing her bra, he’s stumped.
“Uh,” he laughs nervously after a few minutes.
Akira grins as she moves his hands to open the clasp. “There you go. Don’t worry, you’ll have practice.”
Amon flushes as he sees her naked chest. She’s tiny, yet anything but delicate. He loves her body. He loves her mind. He loves her.
They slowly remove each other’s pants and lie for a while in their underwear, exploring each other in between sighs and laughter.
“I didn’t break you did I?” Amon asks anxiously when they start.
Akira gives him a smirk. “It didn’t even hurt, silly.”
Afterwards, Akira and Amon holds each other and smile into each other’s eyes, each treasuring the sound of each other crying out their name, each treasuring the second chance they have to love each other.
Both of them know that if they were to die tonight, finally, they could die happy.
