– Karren is in denial for a long while. She insists she’s just interested in them as food for Master Shuu. Denial runs strong in the Tsukiyama family.
– Matsumae is probably the one observant enough to call her on it.
– She occasionally meets them for coffee and, late at night, even admits she’s in love with them and not Shuu.
– The next morning she’ll say she was dreaming and it wasn’t real.
– This conflict in her heart helps her retain a bit more of herself when Eto approaches her.
– In the end, I still see Karren saving Shuu. But this time, she might try harder to survive. And if/when she does, she will confess her true feelings and they would be foolish not to love Karren back.
