So it’s the two year anniversary of when my mum died and I’m feeling a bit off (for good reason I suppose)). On thid topic I’ve always thought the thing that Ishida writes the best is the way he writes grief, more specifically Hinami’s. Can I ask for some little hcs about what Hinami does to remember Asaki and Ryouko?

Oh my goodness, I’m sorry I didn’t notice this ask sooner! ❤ ❤ <#

I’m so sorry. Let me know if you need to talk.

– Hinami lights a candle for each parent on their respective birthdays. Sometimes Ayato, Touka, and/or Kaneki join her. One time Tsukiyama brought incense, too.

– She likes to keep her room filled with baby’s breath flowers, because those were her Mom’s favorite. And Dad would always buy them for Mom.

– Hinami tries not to go on missions on the anniversary of her parents’ deaths. She knows she might be too distracted and therefore a liability.

– She likes reading those days, distracting herself with imaginary worlds and adventures and character’s emotions instead of her own.

– Sometimes she talks to Ayato about it. He’s pretty understanding, although he’s always complimenting how she handles her grief in comparison to his Edgelord attitude.

– She plans on someday having Uta do a tattoo of a butterfly to commemorate her parents. On her wrist, probably.

– She believes she honors her parents the most when she encounters another ghoul mourning their parents and is able to offer them comfort and empathy.
