Aw thanks, I had fun writing it! ❤
Yomo enters his apartment to find his apprentice sitting on a chair, legs folded in front of her, strumming a dark but powerful melody. The guitar is almost her size.
“That sounds interesting.” Yomo isn’t sure he likes it, but he does want to hear more.
“It’s called the Raven’s Anthem. For you.” The girl smiles nervously.
“I hardly feel worthy,” Yomo says, his face red. But now he definitely loves it. “You’re quite talented.”
“It’s all I had,” she says softly. Then she breaks into a smile. “But now i have you and Anteiku and Uta.”
“You do,” Yomo agrees, ruffling her hair. Something catches the corner of his eye. “You picked flowers?”
“For the bodies. Leave a flower in their place,” she says.
Yomo smiles. His eyes mist. “I love the idea.”
“Do you?” she asks eagerly.
He nods. “You’re a good person. Don’t ever believe otherwise.”
“It’s hard.” Her voice catches.
“I know. But you are good.” Yomo looks directly into her eyes. “And I’ll tell you as many times as you needy to hear it.”
