Juzzou meeting another human who was a pet like him? Like also used as entertainment for the ghoul restaurant (if that makes sense)

Makes perfect sense. I’m excited to write this. 🙂

“I don’t like this,” says a small CCG investigator to Suzuya’s right. Oggai. They’ve slipped away from the rest of their squad.

Suzuya doesn’t respond. He just sees more limbs being thrown on the fire as Washuu Kichimura lectures the citizens of Tokyo.

“It feels like the restaurant again,” they beg.

Suzuya stiffens. “Who are you?”

“I used to work at the restaurant, too.” The Oggai shivers. “I heard you did, too. This reminds me of it and I – I mean, if we’re doing the same things as the ghouls, aren’t we no better?”

Their eyes rake him, desperate for hope.

“All we can do is follow the orders of those who know better,” Suzuya says dully. That’s what Mr. Shinohara told him once.

“Sure. When they know better,” the kid argues. “Do you really think they know better now?!” They point to a head that’s been tosses in the air.

“Let me think about it,” Suzuya says quickly. Their presence scares him.

“Don’t leave me to the mad adults again,” says the kid, tears in their eyes. “Please. They said that was over.”

Suzuya hesitates. They – they’re as disobedient as he used to be. And yet he can’t shake the feeling that they’re right. “You want to get ice cream right now?”

They nod eagerly.

And Suzuya finds out that this kid’s escape is the reason the latest restaurant was raided. They’re brave and kind and clearly tired of killing.

He promises them that it will end soon. They even crack a smile when he sends them back to the Oggai.

When Suzuya enters the tunnels with Furuta, he’s unsure how he will respond to Haise. If he can even kill him.

And then he sees their body, fallen with several other Oggai. Slaughtered. Gone.

He couldn’t save them. Just like Mr. Shinohara. It ended soon, but not in the right way.

Kaneki has robbed him of his chance to be a Mr. Shinohara.

And so when Suzuya sees ghouls, he doesn’t hesitate to throw his knives.
