– Uta’s mother was probably the one who encouraged his art. She nurtured his talent, and may have been an artist herself. She may have approved his first tattoo.
– His father was probably distant. Busy with work and not a fan of ghouls despite being one himself. He was probably disgusted by young Uta’s love for eyeballs. I doubt he had a great relationship with Uta’s mom. They probably split up.
– Uta tried to pretend he didn’t cry when his mom died at the hands of investigators, but he totally did. That’s one of the reasons he related to Yomo – the despair upon losing the one who raised you.
– He also cried when his father died, well aware his father was an ass who probably deserved it. Hence his surprise at Furuta’s lack of emotion after killing Tsuneyoshi.
