the nico posts… i love them so much, thank u. they make me happy cuz i’ve been going through a lot. what would nico’s childhood be like? was she gifted? did she have lots of friends? was she short? did she have siblings? her favourite subject?

– Nico was always tall, which made her uncomfortable because she wanted to be like the cute, short girls.

– She was an only child, with a single mother. 

– When she came out to her mother, her mom’s response was like “yeah I know you are a girl.” 100% supportive. This meant the world to Nico.

– Nico loved frilly dresses as a kid. She dressed as a Disney princess for every Halloween.

– Literature was her favorite class. As a teen, she developed a taste for Shakespearean tragedy. Hamlet is her favorite character; Romeo and Juliet, her favorite tale. She finds Iago the most intriguing character, but not so endearing.

– She was exceptionally gifted at reading and acting. Her mother encouraged both of these pursuits.

– She had friends, but some kids made fun of her fro being different. Her mom fostered Nico’s belief that differences should be embraced, and that helped her through her more lonely times. 

– She met Itori as a kid, but they never bonded until a decade later, when Nico realized Itori accepted her as she was. Then she was introduced to Uta, another oddball, and Nico felt right at home among the Clowns.

– She pursued Yamori with the childish fantasy that she was solving the mystery of Iago’s sadism.

– Nico’s mother died when she was 17. CCG killed her, and Nico had barely learned to hunt at that point (she wasn’t much a fan of blood). Since then, she’s worked hard to face blood (perhaps too hard, considering her involvement with Yamori).
