Thank you, Nonny-Mouse!
“Do I even know you?” whispers Ayato’s S/O.
Ayato stares at the dead investigators before him. How can he explain this?
Tatara was right. He can’t maintain this relationship. Every smile, every kiss, every conversation, even, is meaningless in the light of what he is.
“You’re a ghoul.” His S/O bursts into tears, knowing full well how frightened of tears he is.
He hangs his head. He turns his back to them.
“Hey!” His S/O yanks him around to face him. “Ayato, explain to me. Please. I’ll try to understand.”
“You won’t.” Ayato doesn’t dare hope.
“Then why did you start with me?” she fumes. “You had to tell me at some point? Is all I am food for you?”
“No – I – ” He should say yes and end it.
But she doesn’t want that. She drags his lips down to meet hers. She takes him back to Aogiri, back to his room. “Sit down, and tell me everything.”
When Ayato’s finished, her mouth hangs open. “You’re just trying to protect your sister.”
“So?”
“So, don’t you see, Ayato, you’re kind. Misguided, maybe – I won’t lie to you. But neither will I give up on you. I love you, ghoul.” She smiles shakily.
Ayato pushes himself against her, kissing her with a ferocity he hasn’t used before. But she seems to like it.
“Do you mind,” Ayato whispers into her ear, “if I eat you?”
Her eyes sparkle. “Not at all.”
She’s never been naked with a partner before, and she’s never imagined coupling with a ghoul. But as his mouth travels below her navel and she experiences sensations like never before, she realizes she would never want anyone else. And she can’t wait to return the eating favor.
