Kaneki have children but he never been apart of they life for while and his daughter meet him for the first time ?

“Dad?”

The child can’t be older than four. She has black hair and those unmistakably round black eyes.

Kaneki stares at her. She…she looks like him.

“Hi.” The girl holds out her hand.

Kaneki wants to flee. He’s a ghoul, and she’s a human. She will hate him. What if he endangers her?

This is why I left.

But she looks sadder and sadder, and he remembers tugging at Mom, desperately trying to get her attention, and crying when she chose work instead.

“Hi,” he whispers, taking her hand.

The girl gingerly touches his white hair. “Will mine turn that color?”

“When you’re very old.”

“Good.” She looks at his eyepatch, at his scaled arms. “I want those too. I think they’re pretty. You’re like a mermaid.”

Kaneki gulps. His daughter doesn’t see him as a monster. She sees someone she loves.

His fear of proving her wrong may prove her wrong itself. Kaneki forces himself to fight, to embrace her. “I love you, kid.”

“Daddy.” She kisses his eyepatch.
