“We need to find Seidou.” Akira crosses her arms. She insists on only drinking coffee for breakfast, when he knows she’d rather have a donut.
“He seems ashamed.” Amon wishes he could have handled their imprisonment differently. Helped him escape.
“We need to show him we love him.” Akira pauses. “We do, don’t we?”
Amon’s eyes soften. “Of course.”

“’Sup, ghoul?” Mado Akira approaches to his left.
“Akira.” He’s still not able to process her saving him. He thinks he has, and then she’s facing him and he knows he hasn’t. He’s worthless.
“Friends are what’s up.” Amon Koutarou materializes to his right, and pins Seidou to his chest. “Akira, now’s your chance. Hug him!”
Akira throws her arms around Seidou. “We love you, Takizawa.”
A lump grows in his throat. “But why?”
“Why not?” Amon musses up Seidou’s thick white waves. “We’re your friends. It’d be strange if we didn’t love you.”
“Church boy,” mutters Seidou.
“You know you love us.” Akira kisses his left cheek and Amon kisses his right.
Seidou lets out a squeak of joy.
He doesn’t need to say anything else.
