Bless you for this ask.
“Hey.” Yasuhisa Kurona wakes up and nudges a whining Seidou. “Bad dream?”
Takizawa Seidou opens his eyes to see dark hair cascading over her bare shoulders. Her beautiful, single kalgan open. “Kurona.”
“I’m here.”
“It was a good dream. My family was here, and I was introducing you to them.” He rests her head against his concave chest. “They liked you.”
“I’m glad.”
“They would have, too.” Seidou’s pitch rises. “If I hadn’t eaten them.”
“Stop.” Kurona lifts her head. “Kanou is an evil bastard. He took them. He killed them. You weren’t to blame for surviving.”
“I gave in, too, you know,” she adds, a tear trickling down her cheek. “I ate people. Sometimes I think I lost Nashiro for it.”
“The world isn’t so vengeful. Only we are.” Seidou shrugs, but he clings to her. “I wish I’d met your sister.”
“She’d prank you ’til you got sick of her.” Kurona rolled her moist eyes.
“Or would she get sick of our pranks?” Seidou kisses her, and Kurona giggles against his lips.
“Do you ever wonder if we can start over? With families?” Seidou swallows. “If we could … dare … be parents?”
“I don’t wonder. I dream.” Kurona smiles, and now she really is crying. “Do you think there’s enough redemption in this world to give us a happy family?”
Seidou rolls on top of her. “I’d like to find out.” He sound both hopeful and seductive.
“Kanou took too much of our pasts. He can’t take our future.” Kurona pulls him closer to her.
